Simply look up LM002, Romeo 3, Maserati Tipo AM107, and Hopefully that answers your concerns.

“But Paul, they are simply kowtowing!!!!”

Guess Horatio Pagani is not “pure enough” either.

Same with Mercedes and BMW. Nowadays you see them everywhere. Obviously Ferrari won't build a city car or a minivan, however I won't be surprised to see a 4-door shooting break, now that the "4-door Ferrari taboo" has been broken.

Well Enzo officially signed off on exploring a sedan back in the 70s. They even built a prototype. Fiat nixed it, not Enzo.

but folks here will say they want to remain true to the spirit of Enzo…

Luca fans ignore he signed off on a shooting brake already, and yes, a sedan. They built a few. Saw one last week in my part of town. Old news friend.

look for a new holy cow you are afraid to slaughter.

Enzo thought ALL road cars were just to fund the racing team.

Again, I really don't care what "Enzo" did or people think he might have done. Enzo liked making cars for money to go racing. Some were great, others not so much. That's how the cookie crumbles. We all know which are which...

But I look at the Ferrari of TODAY and wonder what they were trying to do here. Increase production to make a lot of money? Show off their engineering and design skills? Demonstrate to everyone else how superior they are?

If it was anything other than money, its a fail for the brand of 2022.

The FF and the Lusso are "hot hatches", not shooting brakes. :D

if you are ever in Chicago, happy to buy you a coffee and go for a ride in my Gen 2 NSX if you are ok with hybrids, my LC 500 convertible if you prefer V8 sounds from a company with an active quality system or my soon to be received Air Grand Touring Performance if you are curious about electric sedans with over 1000 HP that have a nice interior

No, but let's be serious for a second.
The PS does not exist to finance the race, but to increase RACE sales and profits.
The race today is only a billboard, it is no longer their vocation, nor their passion, nor their reason for living, and between a title of world champion and 20% more for RACE their choice would be quickly made !
Passion does not prevent objectivity or critical thinking.

Nothing wrong with that brother!! Lots of folks say the same thing about the FF/Lusso.

I think they're gorgeous! I never debate on style; that's one thing that is truly "in the eye of the beholder."

    Cheers

You have exquisite taste. The NSX Gen 2, IMHO, is a severely underrated vehicle. I think you will do very well to hang on to that baby. The LC500 ain't exactly chopped liver either...

Thanks for your kind words! If you are ever in Northern California, send me an IM - we do drives quite often here.

    Cheers

If Ferrari hadn't produced the Purosangue just for the sake of prejudice that would have been enormously stupid. The Purosangue is basically the evolution and present interpretation of a concept that started with the FF in 2011 and continued with the Lusso. It is without a doubt a complementary model for the owners of more sporty Ferraris that combines the practicality of being able to carry 4 passengers with the advantages of four wheel power in different climatic conditions. In addition to this, it has a state-of-the-art V12 engine with 725 hp capable of making most sports cars jealous. In terms of driving experience we still don't have any feedback but it looks promising when we look at the Purosangue's power-train, the suspension system and the aerodynamics .

I have a little trouble with this concept of submission ... A woman must have a Ferrari SUV (which is just another simple accessory, in general ...)
A Macan or a DBX in this case is more than enough !

After driving all their latest cars, I can tell you they still stir my senses. I get some say the latest cars have lost a specific jenes se qua, but that's been happening since 1969.

To me? I will say, "Ferrari has lost it" when I drive their newest cars and come out saying 'meh.'

Can it happen? Sure! Ironically, I argue by staying the same while their competitors go 2,000 hp and beyond. Funny enough, many people on this board are clamoring that Ferrari do just that - remain the same.

    ***

There's nothing wrong with this, but I don't understand that it's not like these new cars mean you've got to turn in your older car and hang it up. Even all these ICE bans don't apply to vintage cars; in fact, I relish it; it will make my vintage cars that much more special.

The Purosangue is better looking over the other two, plus it's a Ferrari mate!

Alberto, most people can't even comprehend the world we live in, how It changed in the past years and decades, let alone the life of the Man himself. Some times, however, exceptions happen. Bravo to you.

    Do we lack critical thinking?
As I said, projection is cute.

What made Ferrari special back in the day? I argue that a big part of that is the racing victories. The adage win on Sunday, sell on Monday. Do you think folks would clamor to get a 50's Ferrari road car of SF that came in last every weekend?

After some time, the road cars took a life of their own, and I'm sure championship or not, they would have still elicited sales (they are in an extended drought now.)

So does racing participation even matter anymore? After all, Lamborghini isn't in F1 anymore, and up until recently, Porsche neither.

Porsche decided to do as you wish, left F1, and focused on just the 'pure' sports cars. What happened in 93', hell March of 2009?
Lambo also followed your desires, left F1, and focused on their 'hardcore road cars' - what happened in 78? Again in 92? 98?

They both are doing just fine today. (why may I ask?) Porsche is now aching to get back into F1.

Should Ferrari not be involved in extreme sports, focus entirely on hardcore road cars, and ignore all other segments? The PS is just a pure distraction or a marketing ploy at worst. Yeah?

History doesn't always repeat, but it sure can rhyme.

    **
Besides, sorry to bust out the measuring the stick, but what 'hardcore' Ferrari do *you* drive? Are you a Challenge driver? A client of FXX? What exactly are you going more 'hardcore' that's faster than this SUV?

I'm not being sarcastic; maybe you are all about cars that can run circles around this car. Then I can understand, and I'll shut up, Not being facetious. I have friends that are professional drivers that would not be caught dead in SUVs. Just not their thing, that said, they also don't seem to go on Ferrari chat boards letting everyone know either.

Thanks, Paul. Forgot about the lifter on some of the "low" models.
Any ideas if this will be a PS option?
