So I get the passion for the brand has resulted in emotion related to this vehicle, but why dump on the customers right off the bat. In case I am missing something the company has been abusing customers for a very long time (you can't have this or that car, buy an FF first, put up with dicey quality overall, pay use large sums for useless shields or upgraded (laugh) hifi or maybe $25K for a certain paint job. I said earlier in the grousathon that I hope/expect some of the riches garnered from selling these will go directly into product improvements (like CF tubs for more of the line and Quality engineers who show up for work) and for a better racing team (the cars are plenty competitive, Binbozo has fun hair but come on). On the going public thing, remember Porsche almost took control of the VW group based on the SUV golden goose but a poorly timed recession led to a failed coup. So Cheatwagen gets incinerated via dieselgate and this creates a fitting moment for Porsche to go public, put some Euros into Cheatwagen's account and likley increase their control over what they are doing. Being a public company doesn't mean no soul, it's more like you have to be more transparent than before and if you have some forward thinking but maybe not sure to translate into successful asset, money eating projects, you can't just hide them.
I'm sure it will, but unfortunately Ferrari only puts out official Fiorano times and not Nurburgring. The Performante and the Turbo GT will not be able to hold a candle to this thing. 715 HP, chassis balance, and cutting-edge suspension. It's going to eat and **** the Cayenne TGT. You are extremely wrong brother... Fiorano times? What a joke. Fiorano times are Ferrari living and marketing in a bubble, they are timing against them themselves. Do we have any times for Porsches at Fiorano ? We have lots of independent Ferrari Ring times. they never perform that well. Fiorano times are like self measuring and bragging about having a 10 inch dick, using a ruler that nobody else gets to confirm the scale.. The new Civic Type R , with 4 door, 5 seats and front wheel drive, will match, maybe even beat this Ferrari truck around the ring.. Over 3 or 4 laps it will destroy it ( the 2.4 ton Ferrari truck will cook it brakes and tires in a lap)...
People call it a truck because they don’t know what a truck is. They call it that to be a denigrating remark but it only emphasizes their ignorance. They v CB annoy possibly refer to it as a four door sedan because that would be too nice. Same people who refer to a Tahoe as a huge massive SUV. Ha! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Sillies who don’t know a real truck from a BMW. A real truck has a bed and can tow heavy things. OR, can do serious off road stuff with a bed (nod to the Raptor).
Sounds like a case of sour grapes, who knew 2 extra doors on a Lusso and a bit higher ride height could cause unbalanced rage. The car is logical, sometimes as a Ferrari owner you want to do things a 2 door or 2 seater can’t do as comfortably. Rovers are capable but boring. What are you supposed to do, go to Aston-AMG or Lambo-Audi? No thanks. I don’t see a negative in this thing existing. It’s just another option. The purity ship has sailed long ago. This isn’t the first straw or the last. We’re about to be in an all electric future, I don’t like the prospect any more than anyone else, but what are some of you going to do, hang yourselves in protest because someone else is driving something you don’t like? The “SUV” is going to be a hell of a car. Sorry some are going to miss out. Sour grapes and all. But to spend this much time raging about something you supposedly don’t like the existence of is questionable, and mildly entertaining.
Not true: you can google the "rosso coburn" story...Coburn is the name of a Ferrary owner, who detected the colour. It is only similiar to one Mazda colour...thats all.
Overall I like the Purosangue. The style works for me, although I wasnt sold when I first saw the spy pictures in the factory. I think it looks great, so much better than any of its competitors on the SUV segment. I also think it will look even better in real life, as it is often the case with Ferraris. The only real disappointment for me is regarding performances. It's basically slower than a Lusso, and the Lusso, albeit fast, is not the fastest 4 seater out there. A M5 CS would definitely give some cold sweats to a Lusso. Hell, probably even an Urus from a standstill. So is the Purosangue going to be slower than an Urus? Or just comparable? That would be a shame knowing the Urus was unveiled 5 years ago.
Tom you're right, the new suspension is a unique active suspension that makes its debut in the Purosangue. It is also detrimental to control body roll in corners as well as the contact patch and over bumps to deliver the same performance and handling as Ferrari sports cars.
I find the “lost their soul” brigade incredibly ignorant. The whole reason behind the Ferrari legend is selling luxury GT and sports cars to fund the racing operations. Theoretically the PS is the exact thing that Enzo would’ve done in the 60’s. (It’s a crossover/ GT not quite an SUV, it’s not been engineered to climb hills). When you consider the Scuderia are on an upwards trajectory overall in F1 with a return to LeMans less than a year away plus countless WEC titles and races wins in the GT category. Ferrari have never been more committed to their true identity… racing. For why it’s worth I think they absolutely nailed it with the PS, it looks the business and countless rich persons from LA to China will want one.
According to Ferrari's official technical information the accelerations are: Lusso V12 3,4 seconds to 100 Km/h and the Purosangue 3,3 seconds to 100 Km/h. If we consider only the acceleration parameter the Purosangue is faster than the Lusso V12. However, we know that the acceleration on its own doesn't determine how fast a car is around a circuit or on a road. As far as I know there are no Fiorano official lap times for the Purosangue and for the Lusso V12 therefore it's impossible to compare their times around that circuit. I presume that comparison will be made soon by the people that will be testing the Purosangue.
I am aware. But also... If you need to repair a Rosso coburn car... When you use a paint camera to match... It pulls up the Mazda color... It didn't even require any tinting. Pretty funny.
Yes. A colour is a colour. But it is really shocking that it is exactly the same(?) It would be funny if someone had taken a photo of Mazda and went Tailor Made.
Just making a point, tough to create an exhaustive list Since you mentioned CarPlay, it seems (from owner comments) that after such a vivid expense, the functionality is meh
Thank you for posting this. I loved this particular quote I find it odd no mention of the special limited 456 sedans, signed off by Luca. Surely if 'pink' is a sin for the house of Maranello, then the 456s are cardinal. "Indulgences" take many forms whether it be a ticket to get into heaven, or the raison de entre for a public business.
I agree with your first point whole heartedly. Second point, yes, sometimes when sales were slow, dealers used them as gatekeepers. That said, think all the 2+2s are gorgeous. I respect your viewpoint though; there is no right or wrong on aesthetics, so if you deem them ugly, that's honest and, most importantly, true to you. I do know many people had the option to buy a 2-seater F12 vs. an FF and choose the latter (some both) - simply because some Ferrari are more suited for daily drivers. Agreed, the back seats are okay for shorter folks. For younger kids, it's quite spacious.
Definitely for many, (most even?) - the cache' and social capital are integral to the Ferrari brand. I don't deny that with both of you. On the other end of the extreme are tuners of pedestrian cars. Often with one mis=matching body panel. Many would blow the doors off many Ferrari (especially vintage.) That said, one must choose 'purity' of utilitarian credibility? Sure - I know many enthusiasts that are just that, and shun Ferrari exactly because you often pay far more than what you get back on 'paper.' That said, I don't think this is 100% wealth telegraphing, that would only be true if the performance was totally off its peers. Put another way, I do feel driving the 296 is more thrilling than the Vette, even though the Vette provides a far better fun/cost ratio. Ferrari has never been about maximizing utilitarian considerations after all. So, this is exactly on brand if you ask me.
