Preach brothers preach. I revel in Ferrari's exclusiveness and hoity-toityness, but call out folks who lash out at Ferrari for said elitism on one end or those who claim unipolar superiority on the other. I'm fascinated by the phenomenon, especially the hyperbolic comments. I've concluded that while extraordinarily complex and by no means monolithic, it comes down to this: Insecurity. Take the exaggerated insults to cars, like this SUV. For those outside the velvet rope, putting the car down gives them a sense of superiority and substantiation of why they don't have it. For those inside the hallowed crimson, it boils down to making sure everybody knows (really themselves) why the particular Ferrari they own is 'the best.'
They will take that extra money, and do nothing with it. Exactly as Porsche has done with the profits from the Macan and Cayenne. That’s why you don’t see any improvements to the 911 or 718 series. The Carerra GT and 918 are fake news. Same with Porsche in racing, all esports only. (Looks really real so don’t be fooled.)
I don’t know? 7:34 for the Cayenne around the ‘ring seems reasonable to me. The fact that you had the ability to tow your 911 GT RS MR to drive afterward is the icing on the cake.
The other thread was Original title: SUV Lamborghini Since Ferrari is not calling the new vehicle and SUV, my title "It" seemed more appropriate. That, plus I didn't spend enough time to find the correct thread. Mea Cupla - mark
ROFL, Gebhart, 7 minutes flat in a Pista. there are only 5 road cars faster then the 5 year old Ferrari around the ring’ 911, avantador, huracan, 918, GT Black Do you think the SF90 (especially the upcoming new version) is faster or slower than the 5 year old Pista? in this business, you’re never the “fastest” for very long, but you make it sound like Ferrari aren’t even competitive. BTW, type r is slower then an SUV Porsche Cayenne round the ring.
CarPlay Ferrari style requires wire connection and gives you a screen marginally bigger than the phone itself but no touchscreen ability. One must use the 4 way button to navigate. Try to do that while driving an 812! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Let me be one of many that offer you a hearty congratulations! As for so-called purists that will sneer and seek to question your hardcore credentials? As they say, haters gonna hate. Cheers
456 is aging very well IMO. I can see why the didn't but personally wish they had incorporated some 456 design cues into the Puro...T
Come in guys. Lots of red mist in this thread. if Toyota made this you’d be poo pooing it upside down it’s ok. But we should expect more. “Being Average” is not going to advance the brand.
The 456 is a polarizing car. Though, I've been noticing it's been getting more appreciation as of late. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login I've found time is kind to all Ferrari.
If Toyota made this and charged 400K, I would expect it would sell on par with the LFA. Ironically enough, it has a second coming now. I would say hot damn, and buy this in an instant if Toyota made this and charged 40K (even with the 3-cylinder 300hp engine from the Corolla). Let's get down to brass tacks. You're saying this is not a 'true' Ferrari. You, of course, are allowed to judge cars and others' purchases any which way. It's also okay to have disagreements; as clarity on what your position holds tells me far more than agreement ever can. Was it not you @TheMayor that was denigrated by "purists" decrying the Dino as not a 'true' Ferrari? (Before the purists changed their minds and decided it was?) I mean, it's right there in your signature. Slopes can often be very slippery.
It’s no more advanced than a Lusso, except the new trick suspension which is needed to combat the designed-in problems with weight and COG. Looks are totally personal and subjective, but I prefer the Lusso (sans stilts) and don’t see any reason to pay £300k(~?) to upgrade to suicide doors with added hype. 3 years ago you’d be expecting to lose 50% of value in 24 months, now people are ferrari-seduced to the extent that everyone expects to make a profit.
Isn't it wonderful that one not *forced* to buy this car or trade in their Lusso for it? Moreover, the money it would generate would bolster brand equity and provide R&D for newer Ferrari. It's as if a 911 owner said they hate the Macan S. Okay - don't buy it. Someone else will, and that money will go into the next 911 GT2 RS MR, surely a 911 owner would not object to a newer/better 911? Don't you love Win - Wins? You get more of what *you* love, and somebody else gets what *they* love? Like does this make the Lusso/FF any worse off? I actually argue it will have the opposite effect. It will make the value proposition of the Lusso that much more compelling. Nearly as much utility, with a lower center of gravity. The ultimate irony? There is a whole thread here bashing your beloved FF/Lusso (when that first came out) - why? Take a guess.
We know for certain in the PS the touch screen is much much bigger. As for wired to iphone or not for apple car play, that remains unclear.
Now back to the car….. My good friend told me his good friend (dealer) said the base price is actually £316k or only 358k USD!!! More money for CF….. First deliveries December /January. Anyone else have similar intel? ScottS. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
