You can't fit all of them in this. Regarding the pic, In the Purosangue's defense, most cars now all look very similar once you strip away the graphic breakups. Silence laborer!!!! Your blue collar opinion is not welcome here. You must be an established multi-car collector and or an esteemed member of Ferrari's "list" club to have any say in this matter. How dare you!
yes, for you, and it's ok,have your view. For me amoung various Bentayga, Urus, Cullonan... is best looking by a mile, and i just love it.
Other car companies copying Ferrari is nothing new. What usually happens is folks forget who did a style trope first and then will say something like a Mondial is just copying a Toyota MR2 or Fiero. Or a 456 looks like a Hyundai Tiburon or Ford Probe. This phenomenon happens in all design houses, especially in haute couture. The 'original' was made in vogue and then trickled down to your local Target or Walmart. Plebs, then see the 'original' and mock it for the overplayed derivatives that moved downmarket. I see it repeatedly: the "Daytona" copied the C4 Vette, the 412 copied the Honda Prelude, and so forth. Hell, the 365 gets a lot of heat because of how "average" it looks, yet when you look at that design when it first came out, all the competitors looked immediately dated (with the exception of the BMW) - then the whole industry copied that 'boxy' styling and yet? Ferrari is called out. I chuckle the same way when a person mocks the original song that someone else covered as being an inferior copy. You've all seen that. The biggest clue is to look at the Toyota headlights; that 'wing' is a total rip-off of that styling element that first appeared years ago in a Ferrari. So it seems familiar, well - that's because it is. The Asians are masters of 'borrowing,' so to speak. Take heart, you can't borrow a 6.5 litter V12 as easily as copying a design element.
No right or wrong with aesthetics. That said, given this over the competitors, I wholeheartedly agree it's gorgeous.
True, but coincidence and....coburn has more layers...which impresses in person. And...when you see a 812 GTS parking aside a Mazda...same colour...the one is a piece or art....and the other...same colour a....Mazda.
I chose to request a refund of my deposit for the PS. My reasoning is first, I have unlimited funds. The PS would cost me about $500K USD. I usually get quite a few options, including carbon fiber. For example, the sticker on my '21 F8 Spider was just under $500K USD. If I'm going to spend around $500K, personally, I get better value from a Ferrari "sports" car, rather than this 4 door, Roma crossover. For half of the amount I'd pay for the PS, I can get a nice SUV. I am leaning to a Range Rover SVO. I had a similar feeling when I considered buying the AM DBX a couple of years ago. In pictures it looked like a very nice vehicle. However when I was able to see it in person at the dealer, while it still looked like a very nice vehicle, is also looked to me like a Buick Enclave, at 1/4 to 1/3 of the price of a DBX. The value wasn't there for me with the DBX. One can argue that there is no premium value in any Ferrari, but from my perspective I disagree. First, the other top cars from luxury manufacturers are similarly priced. One could get a Corvette at a 1/4 of the price or less, but in my opinion, there is a big difference between a Corvette and the luxury sports cars. Regarding other available SUVs, the PS doesn't have enough value to me. On a side note, while the styling is very nice, the PS doesn't strike me as being distinctive. The Cullinan looks distinctive to me, but unfortunately I don't like the way it looks, notwithstanding its distinctive look. So maybe that is way Ferrari played safe with PS styling.
I entirely sympathize with @tbakowsky. I like to wrench on my cars, so every criticism against repair costs hits home to me. At the same time, I, too, am a bit confused about the criticism. Ferrari has always been esoteric and costly with repairs. Even in the carb days, while the complexity is not there, you're presented with limited parts and special tooling required to 'do a job perfect' given you're not working on things that could be worth millions. So either way, white velvet gloves. So, it's no surprise that some will assume crocodile tears; after all, who would sympathize with someone critical of the high cost of servicing a Richard Mille? Or darn, a Screaming Eagle requires special storage or your Picasso needs proper lighting and humidity control to maintain its long-term integrity.
I believe the lower high-end HP is the tune you mention, but just to make it more torquey on the lower end of the power band. That, and well, there are supposed derivatives coming, some possibly with electrification? If so - it would be a strategic decision to make the costlier hybrid also provide more performance. Many mainstream auto manufacturers have been adopting this strategy to get the most stubborn #NeverElectric folks on board. I've yet to find a single person to say 'meh' the hybrid with way more power sucks than the pure ICE. I mean, just take a look at this board, you can find just as many people that say the 296 is inferior just because it's hybrid. (yet the La Ferrari? A-okay!!) Reminds me of the anti-turbo crowd. 488? bad (F40? thumbs up) It's so funny, and I constantly see it.

Great points. I do wonder if the pricing at 500K is too high, given the Urus is half of that. That said, I know in the past (though hush-hush) Ferrari has discounted a model that becomes a depreciating liability. So perhaps this is just a function of aiming as high as you can, you can always lower in the future.
While I never debate one's aesthetics, may I ask what SUV you find attractive? Not meant as a measuring stick, I want to peer into your frame of mind. I find it hard to say that any other SUV is more attractive than the PS. Perhaps no SUV is beautiful to you (again, nothing with that), which would logically explain your reaction. Kind regards.
I get what you're saying. I see Ferrari as the "Honda" of high-end luxury brands. Honda, on paper, is rarely the 'best' at anything. What Honda does exceedingly well, however, is the sum of its parts. Honda will never be the 'fastest' car, and they know that, so they focus on the total package. I think it's a fool's errand to chase absolute performance superiority when Porsche has that on lock. (Ironically, by doing exactly what many folks here decry.) Add to the mix upstarts that need to 'beat' Ferrari to survive; it becomes a sisyphusian exercise. So, focus on your strength: that is providing the most extraordinary emotional experience with a car, which is often entirely detached from pure numbers.
No, with a tube of carbon gel at the signature it works well ! Not long ago, everyone was excited by the release of a Berlinetta V8 or V 12 NA. Today, it's by a 2300 kg SUV... Another time...
FWIW my friend is passing right now for this very reason. A few collectors I have spoken too all expressed that it is "priced to high". It will be interesting to see pricing once the shine wears off.
I think you can both ya? Like just because I do like this, doesn't mean I hate the next Hypercar. Just because I get excited about the new Porche Macan, doesn't mean I don't get excited about the new 911. I guess I'm blessed. My circle of friends owns hypercars as well as SUVs. We don't have to choose only one love and fanboi about it. Sometimes I enjoy being on a smooth track driving my Ferrari, some times I have just as much fun in an ATV in the canyons of Hawaii.
All you did was back up what i said about Ferrari not delivering on Ring times compared to its direct competitors. Since you have mentioned the Pista, lets take a closer look... 1. Well, let's just say after looking at the sales figures. I can understand why Ferrari choose the price point. Rolls had no problems moving the 2,000 Cullinan at $350,000 Image Unavailable, Please Login
I said Ferrari is the fastest round the ring? Way to move goalposts. Why are you adding modified cars here? The moment you do that, you lose your argument. The Radicals are not street legal in the US btw, besides, imagine pulling up to a 3 star Michelin restaurant in a Radical? ROFL. Though, come to think of it, that would be sorta cool. So I reiterate, you implied Ferrari is slow around the ring. I pointed out that not even their fastest model is the 6th quickest road model on the ring. Hey, it's cool if you hate Ferrari, do you. I just remind you, that this is a Ferrari enthusiast forum, and you're the one here.
The problem with know-it-alls is they often get it wrong. You can also use the term "Sisyphusian" since you're getting pedantic.
I'm not a fan of any these performance SUV's, they all look the same, boxes on wheels , and they all are hugely compromised due to their weight and height. I have driven a good few, and they have all driven and rode like crap along good "driver" roads. The mere concept of the whole "only road going" SUV thing, with super sticky tiny side-walled tires is absolutely insane to me ( as these tires don't work at all off-road or in the snow or sand). The 4x4's with genuine real off-road abilities and towing capabilities make sense, for people that need that ( for example a Land Cruiser) . Companies are building these trucks, marketing them as sports cars, with more usability, but they offer little more space, often less useable space than their estate (wagons) counterparts, but they add a lot more weight and a higher COG, which means they have to try and engineer out a problem that should be there in the first place for a road only car. And lets not get on to the poorer efficiency, and higher wear rates on tires, brakes etc due to their weight and boxy shapes. Since you seem to really love SUV's, what's the second most beautiful after the PS?
...and the Rolls is by far the most hideous of the entire bunch. First time I saw one it gave me the dry heaves. If people will pay for that pretentious monstrosity Ferrari could probably get at least double.
