I just installed this awesome wheel. The parts I used are:

    1) Momo PRO35BK1C Prototype Steering Wheel Leather Carbon Fiber - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CMPC463?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

    2) FERRARI F355 (with A/B) Steering wheel hub adapter - https://www.ebay.com/itm/165545495588?hash=item268b47cc24

It works WONDERFUL! Changes the personality of the car quite a bit for me. More sporty for sure. However, I don't think it looks as great as I'd like it with this setup. Check out the picture attached. There's a fairly big gap between the adapter and the base.

Anyone have any recommendations on how to make it look better?

That sounds like the right solution! I’ll check it out. Thx a lot.

Thx. Yeah Momo does an awesome job and I really feel it looks and certainly feels better than the original model.

absolutely. Go to Amazon or momo’s site and they have the exact same Prototipo model in both black and with metal, costing less too. I picked mine with CF because it matches exactly the center console and radio piece.

Good to know is that the leather on those two steering wheels are not the same. The prototipo 6c has premium leather while the the one you linked is the standard prototipo version with the basic leather. I'm a collector of momo wheels and have bought the new ones as well, but never the ones having the basic leather as imo, it feels and looks a but cheap. If you are after an anodised black version there are better option out there...

the heritage edition prototipo: it has distressed leather which is something you may have to look but i can tell, it feels (and looks too imo) way better than the standard prototipo -- Amazon.com: Momo PRH35BK2B Steering Wheel (Prototype Heritage Leather Black), 1 Pack : Automotive

the full black edition prototipo: just full black, with the same premium leather like the carbon look 6C. Prototipo Black Edition (momo.com)

    Cheers!

I bought the cheap one to put in my sim racing rig, not ready to give up the air bag yet. If I swap the f355 wheel it'll probably be for a nardi gara 3 which is the closest I've seen to the factory non airbag wheel.

I was thinking about trying the single stage bmw m sport wheel as a replacement for the factory wheel but not sure if it has similar splines and the roundel can be replaced...https://www.ebay.com/itm/115344853251?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=rydoz9HiSGe&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=WKO0AFnNS7S&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I don't know what happened but when did Momo change the quality of the leather as it seems very rough these day and not the smooth like old days, guess to save costs but they should have an option to choose another quality.

As a collector, i have to agree. The quality on their current standard model is questionable. But while you can't change the leather choice on its own, the other optionable prototipo wheels that i mentioned, do have better leather quality.

Sorry I can't see a prototipo belonging in any 348/355....way too "vintagey" for the car.

    Just doesn't belong.

Sorry to drag this up from the dead but is the carbon an overlay or is it actually constructed from carbon?

I agree with Pete, that wheel looks pretty close to the non air bag factory wheel. I prefer this wheel over the factory wheel. The Momo Montecarlo wheel which ShineKen had on his car looks nice , fits the style of the car, and is the same style that was on the 288 GTO/328.

Follow up question, does the hill engineering hub bring the wheel noticeably closer to the driver?

Does it bring the wheel closer to you than stock if running a flat dish aftermarket wheel?

My steering wheel is actually a factory Ferrari Momo. Came off a 308. It’s for sale :).

NGL, this actually looks really good to me. I usually don't like the older style wheels on the 355 but it just works, I think because the color is similar to the other silver accents (eg wheels, shift gate and shifter) on the car.

I thought it came off of a 308/328 but didn’t remember which one. I think it’s a nice looking wheel and I prefer this wheel and Lanab’s over the factory non air bag wheel.

Yes it's good but the leather is kinda grey/black which you can see, doesn't understand why they don't make the black anymore, kinda stupid.

No. I have the Momo boss and a 50mm Hill spacer. I'm still not sure it's close enough for me. I might replace the 50mm with an 80mm.
