On this track, on this test the Pista might well be faster. But I own a 765 and a Pista and I will tell you the 765 will smoke the Pista and is more fun to drive. Isolated cases aside I’ll take the 765 over Pista any day of the week and twice on sundays.

I’d take a 765 over a Pista as well (I’m not a big fan of that car). However, I’d take a SF90 over the 765 “any day of the week and twice on sundays”, as you so eloquently stated.

Perhaps. I think sf90 is very quick and fast. For me- I’m not a fan that Ferrari hasn’t switched over to a carbon tub. I do not have time behind the wheel to comment on the sf90 but it’s fast as hell that’s for sure.

For me it remains to be seen how durable these carbon tubs will be in the long term. No bad choices among these cars.

really? That is the last of my concerns. I mean you have 12cs that are 10 years old with zero issues. Carbon tub makes a huge difference. I wish Ferrari would go that route but it seems they have no incentive to do so.

Didn’t the F50 have a type of carbon tub? Mclaren f1? Those cars are 30 years old and I have never heard of any issues with carbon tubs. Formula 1 been using them for years. Not sure durability is an issue.

Owningn and tracking both, the Sf90 and the 765lt, for sure the Sf90 is for us avarage track driver easier to handle and to be fast. Out of corners way more stable in 95% of the condition, where you have to be more carfull with the throttle on the 765lt and its massive power on the rearwheels only.

I cant say anything negativ of the aluminium fram of the Sf90 vs the carbon tub from the 765lt, expect its weight.

I do think high power sportcars will get more and more 4wheel drives, the advantage cant be denied.

I couldnt chose on car over the other, the 765lt is the hooligan and in capable hands very quick, the Sf90 more the fin GT cruiser wich can be turned in a extremly fast and capable machine.

I’ve driven both the SF90 and 765 (obviously). They’re both great. Really. They’re quite different, but as good as it gets. There are things each can do that the other can’t. Ultimately it comes down to personal preference and priorities. I like the 765 more but If someone prefers an SF90 that’s totally understandable.

Ferrari isn't using full CF for its tubs because of an investment decision it made about a decade ago to invest in aluminum.

Was it a wrong decision? Well, from a pure $$ standpoint, no. From a performance perspective? Probably.

    Money quote from the article:

For a long time to come, then, steel will continue to be the dominant material in most new cars. The exotic carmakers like Ferrari and McLaren will continue to experiment with different materials and production techniques simply because their customers can pay for the new technology. And Ferrari believes in aluminum. But as long as the company continues to deliver that supremely engaging Ferrari experience, we'll lust for them no matter what they're made of.

.3 seconds slower than the Pista - love Ferrari but it's nowhere close to the LT.
One thing when Speciale beat 675LT - those days are over. The 720 outruns the Pista.

Real story here is the SF90 vs P1 GTR.
