"is my money safe " I go into the ANZ to bank cash into my C/C the teller counts the money ....than places it in a counting machine ,it jams and swollows the notes! The teller is unable to give me a receipt for the deposit! A family member (non First Nation person ) ran this bank in the 80s ....he would be looking down, shaking his head ...car guy too who signed off on a certain RS500 drivers sponsorship ...oh well after about 10 mins of F.....around I was given a deposit slip. And the ANZ wonder why since the age of 18 banking with 'em I've never borrowed money off them! GOD give me strength !
I've reverted back to under the mattress but thinking of doing gold bullion for the upcoming recession
Most of the employment issues go back to the original agreements made between the miner and the traditional owners to gain permission to dig a hole - those agreements generally include employing at least "X" number of locals. This is not necessarily reflected in the HR manual. Most of the big miners do it, RIO, Fortesque etc.
Does not add up! 1788 When the 1st fleet arrived it was estimated 750,000 Aboriginals lived in Australia (how would you know? By 1901 it was down to 100,000. Around 10,000 died in the "Australian war" My question is ...What happened to the other 640,000 plus those born ? That is over a 113 year period over 100 died per week! What I'm suggesting is I take very little from what is being written at the moment ..
So there were some houses built (presumably by either MIM or the then Qld HousingCommission) - what proof do you have that they were provided ‘free’, rather than paid for through wages or rent? And yes, the houses built for indigenous communities are often trashed for various reasons; 1 being that they were often entirely unsuitable for the end users.
nJust on TV right now - remote public housing rents now being changed from cost per house to cost per ROOM...
Mt Isa goes back o the 1920s - no consultation in those days... if you read that history article I posted, the Aboriginal community was corralled into a gazetted area that was later ‘cancelled’ when the mine wanted to expand and the residents ‘moved on’ .
Oh FFS, Karen! I have LIVED in aboriginal communities. They trash houses, offices, cars, and each other. Either live a stone-age, hunter-gatherer existence, or join the mainstream. The problem with the aboriginal communities IS the communities - total artificial constructs based on the old Missions.
Gotta love a QLD ALP Government , so re land tax .....If you own property in another State it will now also be subject to land tax collected by the QLD revenue office .. The end result people will sell and there will be even less rental property ...idiots .
That is true. Tribes were forced to leave their traditional lands and mix with other tribes in a fake community.
Why do you guys bother answering whatever dumb question she has , she just loves to argue NOT debate ..would explain the world she is in FFS.
Ask Aunty Kerrari of Coolum SC, has she ever donated money or time to help these people ? I think we know the answer !
When my mothers family ruled CFC ..decades NO Aboriginal player ever played for the team ,not because of there abilty , they went on walkabout as they do in jobs ,live and relationships , nothing wrong with that , its what they do.
EXACTLY ! The regional people are stuck in a no man’s land where the traditional culture and way of life has been destroyed but the suburban “Neighbours” lifestyle is nothing but a pipedream... Violence as a reaction to social dislocation isn’t unique to indigenous Australia. Ever noticed that the folk who live closest to ‘traditional’ lifestyle tend to be the happiest? Hermansburg may well be the saddest place on earth...
Dubbo was enough for me and the sad plight of the First Nation children , teens wondering around off there faces on cheap drugs ,babies ,nothing to do but hang around the local McDonalds carpark . On my travel to FNQ ...it dawned on me what a Sports psychologists had said on talkback, forget schooling if they have any sport ability ,get them doing things they enjoy and are good at SPORT..
About 20 years ago, we opened a clinic and invited the State Health Minister (Labor at the time)to attend the launch. He insisted that a local “Elder” attend and speak. Ok, no problem. Said Elder turned up late, made no effort to mingle and when it came her turn to speak, berated us all “rude white people” for not being respectful. That was it for me, no more ****ing Abo ****s at any more openings. FO
