Reading various threads and noticing that some Fchat members are talking about parts that may be missing in the future, parts becoming rare and highly expensive, thus affecting the opportunity to drive and own an older Ferrari over many years.

Specifically regarding the 612 (for example 2005-2006) and a situation when one is purchased this year, what do you think the situation would be in 5 to 10+ years from now regarding parts and the possibility of driving these cars often (even daily), would it be ok owning one?

You had better order a left-side LED screen -- mine seems to be the most vulnerable thing in the car. Also, the principal computer board. I've replaced mine already. This electronic stuff is far less robust than the mechanical elements of the car.

It could be because the 612 is undervalued that more parts are available in the future. If a car is worth £1M its less likely to be used to donate parts in the future, where as if the F137 engine explodes it’s less likely to be rebuilt leaving behind a whole host of second hand parts. You are win win, if the one you buy in 10 years you can not get parts for, you can always sell the parts off it and you have had 10 years of NA V12 Ferrari.

People will continue to crash these cars, there will be parts.

I’ve been thinking the same question. Is the electronic stuff available from Ferrari or is it other sources?
