Nice car for the GG, would be hilarious in some of the bends on the Oxley...
Don't laugh about it,that Lloyds Mondial auction also had a '67 Caddy Fleetwood.......I was more than a little interested! but lost track of time. Edit: More worryingly is........WTF were you doing looking for/at it!!!
'59 Bubble top is my favourite Impala. On my list as soon as I have more storage. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Talking about Impala's, the 1962 327 SS I used to own ( sold in in 2004) is on the market. It was a one owner car I purchased in Delaware, nice to see it's been kept in its original condition. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1962-chevrolet-impala-auto/SSE-AD-13106790/?Cr=2
You’re obviously not a Queenslander. [emoji41] I’ve never owned a car without airconditioning. [emoji300]️
A friend convinced me to buy it. Car was in great original condition, but with 4 wheel drum brakes, 2 speed powerglide it was a cruiser, not a drivers car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Even back then, the 327/ 4 speeds were much more $$$. A an SS 409 / 4 speed would be the gun car to own.
409 now they are special ,when one looks into the build numbers of the # Special yank models of the 60s , production numbers were LOW in the RHD Ferrari type numbers ..... Like the 66/67 Fairlane 427R Code cars ..
"Chevy built 491,000 Impalas for '61. Only 453 had the SS package and of those, just 142 got the 409. But word spread quickly. Here was a mainstream Chevy V-8 with 409 lb-ft of torque and the ability to turn mid-15-second quarter miles with the standard 3.36:1 rear axle and mandatory four-speed manual. "She's real fine, my 409," sang the Beach Boys, and a legend was born."
Ideal for GG ..'67 Nascar 427R Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Passed a very nice BRG MG K3 on a trailer towed by an old guy in a Range Rover in the Airport Link tunnel yesterday. Had a plate "K3 MG" on the back.
He lives around the corner from me, I posted photos a while back. It's real and he's had it for a long time.
For Simon and Adrian ( and Carl, who I know has a soft spot for these), I've never really liked these at all - but I watched this and thought, yeah I think I get it now. Maybe.
