I wish I knew. Gold and silver have not historically been great investments in comparison to other asset classes, so they’re really just a store of value in times of uncertainty. Gold is up around its 10 year highs again, so I feel like there’s not much more upside and if Russia wakes up tomorrow and admits its lost the war, it could precipitate a decline in gold values. Silver probably has a bit more upside. But I dont really like either as I feel like its really not going anywhere so my money’s not working. I think 575 was probably on the right track with copper. It has a utility that gold doesn’t have which drives its price along. Lithium “feels” like a good option but I don’t really have much knowledge or insight into that commodity (other than when I plug my battery conditioner into the Pista). The markets are as volatile as all hell at the moment but tracking sideways. At least that’s been good for option premiums, so I’ve been taking advantage of that recently. Everywhere I look on social media, all the doomsayers are saying the bottom’s about to fall out and a massive crash like no other is just around the corner. This makes me feel more confident that we’re at or near the bottom - LOL. The problem for me is, I feel like USA could totally implode in the not-too-distant future - they are so divided at present and China is absolutely in the ascendency. I think America’s time in the sun might be over for now. Ray Dalio thinks the same and he’s one of the great global investment minds worth listening to, IMHO. So let me get this straight - China is in ascendency when: 1) The property market is shambles yet its makes up 30% of GDP and 70% of Chinese wealth 2) The country has a population timebomb with the fastest aging demographic in history and expected to be 1/2 the size in 30 years 3) Major droughts and rolling power black outs as a result of the Yangtze at its lowest levels as China relies heavily on hydro electricity 4) Relies heavily on globalization (an American creation post WW2) and needs to imports 80% of its energy needs. of which 85% comes from the Persian Gulf 5) Continuing Lockdowns due to an ineffective vaccine 6) Imports a substantial of its food inputs and manufacturer still of low end technology 7) Makes America's money printing presses look like chump change - and fact is, America is in quantitative tightening atm. Shall I go on? Yet in the US, 1) Self reliant on food and energy 2) Most technological break throughs still led by the US So the three most import things - food, energy and ideas, America has total security 3) Chip manufacturers such as TSMC are now building factories in the USA and even ASML (photolithography machines that chip manufacturers such as AMD, Intel, TSMC use to produce chips) is building a mega factory in the USA. Read about ASML - the technology is mind boggling. 4) In fact, a lot of manufacturing is returning back to the USA (so maybe inflation will be structural thing) The biggest danger against the US is the 'culture wars/green movement' - it is a country that is being torn apart, much like the rest of the Western world despite its enormous geopolitical advantages. All this is just a simple summary of the facts. P.S Green movement has it values, but its application it belligerent - just look at what is happening in the Netherlands - no wonder AMSL is building a factory in the USA.
