Canelo is already ahead 5 rounds before the fight even begins. The judges scorecards are always a complete joke when it comes to Canelo. Judges had Canelo winning 5 rounds vs Bivol, when Canelo maybe won 2. He’s such a cash cow they can’t shoot the golden goose. As for tonight against GGG, I’m not expecting anything unexpected. Canelo wins any decision in Las Vegas unless it’s a completely obvious defeat like Bivol. Any fighter has to destroy Canelo to beat him in Las Vegas
I didn't even watch it. Wasn't gonna pay. On paper it was a snooze fest. I heard it ended up being that.
Very boring fight. Both respected one another's power and stayed clear of on another. Canelo landed more punches but neither really did anything to one another other than in the 9th round Canelo was clearly wobbled.
I'm surprised they were able to have the same exact judges in this fight as in the last 2 travesties. It's time to close the book on this "rivalry."
Is Terence Crawford going to win his next fight? Oct 24 against Dierry Jean here in Omaha The hype for Crawford here in his hometown has all-but disappeared....
That GGG fight...............hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. It's a shame GGG didn't try to bang with Canelo for the first 6 rounds, may have been a different story. Risky, but he was (they) were both tentative, especially GGG would made for a boring fight. Which was a shame considering they are both solid punchers. Would have been much more exciting if the fought from the start as the last 6 rounds were decent, especially the last few rounds. Those Judges who scored the fight close were obviously paid off................again.
Never mind - what I posted was OLD. The story said 'Oct 24' but NOWHERE did it say the year anywhere.
Both fighters simply looked too afraid of one another to really unload. The 8-9th rounds were the only sort of interesting rounds. Seems like this thing was just a money grab ….. ggg may have a fight or two left in him, but I don’t think it will be with anyone notable. He’s earned his retirement.
Teddy atlas said the other day that the two appeared to have some sort of agreement going into the fight. Would not surprise me. We know Pac-Man and Mayweather did
Deontay Wilder was also back in action last night and Caleb Plant also. They both scored big KO wins, especially the Plant KO! That was a BIG left hook on Anthony Dirrell.
Huge Boxing weekend. I think I was bummed about all 5 that I was interested in. Mayer lost to Baumgardner Marshall lost to Shields Kambosos lost to Haney Wilder beat Helenius And I preferred Darrell to beat Plant, but I'm ok with Plant winning.
Fury to fight Chisora December 3rd. A fight that can only ever go 1 way. Usyk needs to recover so won't fight, fine. Fury offers a match to AJ, the one AJ begged for for so long, but AJ chickened out. Chisora there to get pummeled into oblivion and has some extra pennies in his retirement fund. Anyone that pays the PPV charge for this needs their head checked.
I think Fury is just lining Delboy's pockets with this fight. He will take it easy on him and give him a nice pay cheque on the way out. Which is nice to see as I think they are friends from memory.
Lomachenko back in action this weekend. Will be a stoppage of some sort for Loma I am sure. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, Ortiz is one tough son of a gun! He gave it to Loma, even though he lost, he gave Loma a very hard fight. Future World Champ there for sure! Now.........will Loma beat Haney with the same performance? Nope! Haney will be too big and too strong for Lomachenko I think. That is the fight Lomachenko wants next and Haney was in the ring with him after the fight, but nothing too exciting happened. Unless Lomachenko was playing possum and let this kid take him 12 rounds so Haney thinks he will be a walk in the park and take the opportunity to fight him, we will see.
Interesting news here. Tyson Fury may have to fight Deontay Wilder for FOURTH time with American to battle Andy Ruiz in final WBC eliminato | The Irish Sun (thesun.ie)
