Ha, no. I think I threw up a little in my mouth thinking about how bad that would be. I saw somebody asking $2k for the Old Fitz. I assume it won’t change hands for that amount but still, Jesus. I’m putting together a wine cellar, so I’m the manager’s bestie at my local store. Said another way, it’s hard to say no to the customer who’s walking to the register with the case of Chateau Mouton Rothschild. JK
Well freakin done sir! Speaking of that reminds me, a local spot--while not nearly at your level, of course--is holding a pinhook 7yr bourbon war for me. Barrel pick and all. Look at me hittin the big time Spose i better punch over there before the afternoon traffic gets too craptastic.
I stand corrected, the Pinhook was something the missus is grabbing. I'm off to pick up a Magnus Cigar Blend.
If your buddy is a bourbon fan I think he’ll really like it. Let us know what he thinks after y’all crack it open.

I see some posts here about Weller 12. I just finished a bottle the other night and went on the web today to get reloaded. Whoa! When did this become a cult bourbon? I think I paid maybe around $60 for the last bottle. So I see a lot of high prices and then one popped up for $109 at a liquor store in a tiny town in rural Utah. As you would expect, it was a scam. Just before I pressed the buy button for two bottles I called and the guy I spoke to had trouble expressing himself in English. Google earth showed the address to be a big vacant lot with a bunch of manufactured sheds on it. Anyway, does anybody have a go-to source for Weller 12? Any suggestions for an alternative wheated bourbon? Thanks. Cheers!

Another good score. It completes my collection of standard Weller bottles. Image Unavailable, Please Login JK
Well hell. Might as well pop in. My buddy stationed in Japan is stateside for a bit. When someone says "I have 2 bottles of Japanese Blantons and two minis (which are unbelievably rare) for you" you drive. All the way there. And back. And yes I already cracked. No flipping here. Currently in old Charleston if anyone's free. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Awesome! Truthfully, I have never tried the red. The only one I owned I gave away with the 36 bottle collection a while back. How is it? Minis look great with the little horse. I haven’t opened the Weller. Now that I have the set of six, I assume I’ll open them all for a tasting with friends at some point. Tonight’s choice is Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit. One in, one out. It's fantastic. It has a stronger oak note but not "aged 2 years" oak note if you catch my drift. Typically a lot of oak just tastes like sawdust to me, but this stuff is just....excellent. The extra aging certainly creates a vastly different pour. I've not tried it on rocks or with any water droplets yet so this is definitely a very preliminary review. But it really is fantastic.
Very cool. There’s a black and green as well, but I have no idea how they stack up. For some reason Japan got several unique bottlings. If I were within 500 miles of Charleston… JK
during monterey car week we were lucky enough to be comp’d mccallan 25 whiskey shots. $2200+ per bottle.
It's crazy expensive. I used to enjoy Weller's myself. You can get it on De Wine Spot. For me, I like the 6 year + Old Elk Wheated.
