it'd be interesting to see where the market,so you're suggesting that every car there is wrongly priced including pretty much all the TR's as well 'cos none are moving.
Don’t ask! You win some, you lose some. It’s trash and has gone off to the wreckers in Whyalla. Shame really - I was hoping to get 6-12 months out of it. Now I’m looking for an old Rangie or similar to leave up there.
100% Same thing happens in Real estate, shares, watches, burgers, beanies, torches, prawns, Red Rooster etc If it's not selling, price is too high. The seller needs to meet the market
I'd like to throw one of these into the mix. I've had 2 and still have one. 2.8 turbo diesel ONLY!...not the V6...eva! https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/?q=(And.Service.carsales._.(C.Make.Holden._.Model.Rodeo.)_.Year.range(1996..2001)._.FuelType.Diesel.)
fantastic ,good cars always sell new local or 2nd hand imports ..at the end of the day its all about each car ..
Agree re those examples BUT they are an Isuzu turbo and, touch wood, are unburstable...much like the 1HZ Tojo diesel. The prob with RR Classics now is nutso dosh being asked unless you look at the P38 or whatever it called. A lot of dosh for a car that's gunna sit for long periods........unless of course yer a BTC.
Budget is $10-15k so not a lot for a car that we’ll likely keep for many years. It needs to be reasonably comfortable for the occasional 4 hour run back to Adelaide. And of course be able to take the dogs with us (ie. not in a separate area of the car). Something like this is what I had in mind. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2001-land-rover-range-rover-s-auto-4x4-my01/SSE-AD-13339913
A P38A is probably not a bad buy now, particularly one in that condition as most of the issues will have been addressed. 4lt didn't suffer from the dropped cylinder liner/head gasket issues that the 4.6 did as it was basically the old 3.9 which was unburstable. If the aircon works then the blend motors will have been fixed. Air suspension can have issues if not maintained but a reasonably cheap swap to coils.
Same here, I kept the air suspension but added that little manifold that allowed me to individually pump up each bag if the pump failed. Then it was a matter of preventative maintenance on the bags etc. I put nearly 500k klms on that one waiting for them to replace the P38.
Piece of p i s s! Shagger came from Perth, bought off pics,$3500 delivered to FNQ. That's the pick of the bunch and I think you'll be upset you didn't put a deposit on it today!!
Agreed. I've bought a car from Perth before, too. It's no big deal but I'll have to factor in the transport cost to get it here. Are you saying you only paid $3500 for the E-Type?! Bloody Hell!
what about a Discovery? I bought new in '95 a petrol model as a tow unit car towed race cars all over the State, sold in 2003 with 160,000kms apart from a leaking rocker cover gasket ,replacing a rear muffler ,and fitting stiffer springs on the back never missed a beat ..
