Different management now. Renault/Alpine must be in its 3rd or 4th re-incarnation now.

If there was any lingering doubt that Lewis is precisely as good as the car beneath him, it was removed today. The so-called GOAT and Rain King moonwalked his way down the rankings like a "true champion".

He was really pushing behind Carlos.
Don’t blame him to try hard.

Yeah, Lewis's team picked his tires for him.

Russell picked his tires, rolled the dice and unfortunately, it didn't work out for him.

We've seen this play out for the 2022 season, Lewis relies on his team while Russell relies on his instinct.

I seem to recall Max also making a booboo in the race when he too went off, but didn’t hit anything. Luckily for him, no real damage was done other than some flat spotted tires which needing changing.

Whereas Lewis’ off resulted in the breaking his front wing, with the subsequent wing change added about 11 seconds to his pit stop. The cumulative effect of all this at race’s end was the throwing away of 10 points.

C'mon now...only Hamilton's mistakes are worthy of talking trash, because, you know, he's just not that good. Anyone else, they were just "trying hard and pushed it too far".

Guess it depends on what way you look at it, i seen a title deciding race against a better redbull car ( neways and horners own words. Who are we to argue with the actual people who run the tram right?) be dragged to the last race so the race director could give max a title which might have been running an illegal car due to over spending on budget cap, i see this year he spent the first half developing the car, as has been said by his team, and others out side his team, including his team mate, i also just watched mv in the fastest car and best car start 8th and finish 7th, while lewis team mate finished last ( not including retirements).

Who people consider the GOAT is a personal opinion and not one you will ever likely change.

Its simple better to say as a matter of fact, he is just the most successful driver in f1.

    P. S if redbull are found in breach of breaking financial rules, how tainted will maxs title from last year be? LOL needed to cheat, and needed an extra helping hand from the race director to beat merc n lewis LOL, oh and free points at spa for qualifying..

I sincerely hope it won't come to that.

F1 would be seriously tainted if if was found that Max won his title "outside the rules".

Has it occurred to you and the rest of the Hamilton haters that you guys (the Hamilton Haters) are the ones that keep bringing up "GOAT"? I certainly haven't called him the GOAT nor have I seen anyone else NOT affiliated with the HH society call him the GOAT. No doubt somewhere in this 214 page thread, some Lewis fan has called him the "GOAT", but as the thread ambles along, the only ones bringing it up are....

Remember the countless posts about how everything else is made up stats and the only thing that counts are WDC and Lewis has the most of those, so therefore he's the Undisputed Heavyweight Greatest Driver in the History of Driving? Problem is, as time has gone on Sir Lewis himself has proven those claims completely wrong so most folks have gotten a bit sheepish about the GOAT talk.

In pointless threads like these where we all just kind of agree to troll each other for a few years, all in good fun of course (at least for me), gloating a little is really the only trophy on offer in the odd and wholly unexpected circumstance that someone is actually proven right. ;) What the heck else are we going to do between race weekends?

You know, Rules are Rules, They agreed to compete under them, so in my opinion, for such an obvious breach of the regulations ( Should they be true ofc ) Should be a DQ from last year, this year, and next year. Other wise, What is the point and would fully be happy for Ferrari and Merc to go out and spend 1 billion improving the car, f it, bring a new car every race, dont even follow the RULES LOL.

Even better, a $100 million fine and some bans but let the drivers keep all the points. They earned them fair and square, after all.

But if they have broken financial regs, they havent. So a complete DQ is the only option, not just for Max, but also Perez.

I would say its harsh, but they knew the rules, So no sympathy, Plus, It means Ferrari are likely to win both championships, Small price to pay letting Lewis have his 8th title fromlast year imho.

If removing titles to cheaters is not cancel culture, it has been going on for a very very long time, its common practise in all sports.

The worlds biggest event ( Olympics ) does it on a regular basis, lost count how many athletes have been punished for cheating. If a player gets caught cheating in football, they get banned from competeing, perm if for using drugs... and match fixing also carrys a prison sentence its considered that bad.cyclist get banned and lose titles, Boxers too, Horse riders, Hound racing, Darts, Name me one sport in which cheating is allowed? Even sheep herding compititions forbid cheating.

I actually cant think of any sports that allow any forms of cheating.

I was being sarcastic, and reminding you of a pretty significant incident where the team was deemed to have cheated massively and excluded from the WCC but the drivers were inexplicably allowed to keep their ill-gotten gains.

Because the FIA said if they ( the drivers ) provide evidence they would be given immunity from punishment, and spying is not the same as breaking the financial regs, you know that, Breaking any regs gets you dq'ed from the session in question eg a 0.2 mm bit of damage to one side of your rear wing gets you dq'ed.

We all know the SPORTING code is not as strict, Its perfectly fine to win a championship under unofficial rules on the last lap of a race completely disregarding all the teams on the grid and half the sporting regulations.. But we will save the sporting code comparison for a different day.

    Anyway...

Does any one have a comparison of GR n LH qualy results for the season so far? Lewis looked pretty good today from the little time i seen of his laps, Dont remember seeing much of GR runs either, Or Ocon who looked like he had a great lap, Beating Alonso, impressive.
