No idea if is the OEM stereo or speakers but assuming the latter, what is the simplest solution to replace the speakers to stop the crap distorted bass that exists with the current set-up?

or is it a case of throwing bad money after bad - and the whole thing is ****e?

I'd just like to hear the CD at a decent lick.
    Cheers.

This is a replacement for the factory speakers in between the seats. Mine were shot and I put this in and it's decent. they have other options also if you want to upgrade even more.

I'm in the same boat, got my amp working (loose wire) and as soon as it started working, the speakers were rattling, unbearable noise.

I tore it apart and found the attached pics.

THIS is the HIFI option. Terrible terrible. The top is just a plate? The bottom speaker just bangs back and forth.

I'm getting the upgraded JL Audio 8" woofer and directional CF tweeters, fortunately my amp was already upgraded.

Mike (@SoftwareDrone ) at scuderia audio was great, knows this stuff cold, helped me diagnose over the phone on his own time, terrific guy.

Agree with btshat, that link will get you back online but with the amp that is in the car, I couldn't even hear it over my engine with the top down (08 spider]

Not that I don't like hearing the engine!...but that's not the point.

Mike at Scuderia Audio. His handle is Software drone on this site. I have first hand experience. He is a sponsor. He's a great guy and will give you good advice no matter your budget. Answers all your questions. All around good guy. He made a custom subwoofer box for my 430. Looks factory or better. I also bought speakers and an amp from him.

The stereo from the factory sounds like a $2 radio from a dept store. The 10-15k upgrade from the factory sounds like a $5 radio. Our 2012 458 stereo was absolutely pathetic. It's a running joke with Ferrari.

Contact Mike. Don't bother going elsewhere.

There really is no excuse that Ferrari charged for this stereo system. If you are going to charge someone thousands for a stereo, take a bit of pride in what you sell. Its as if Ferrari was trolling its customers with the stereo's they put in their cars.

Factory subwoofers can be rebuilt by a speaker shop for $35 each. Search the internet for a shop near you.

what is shown is a passive radiator.

that is easier to repair than a driver.

However, really best to upgrade everything to more current technology

To each his own, I love rocking a good sounding system during spirited driving (sadly, I have the tickets to prove it)

I was gonna say those speakers that were behind my seat aren't worth the leather enclosure they are in, but more accurately, I'd say they arent worth the thread in the leather of the enclosure they are in, imho.

Agreed, the passive can probably be repaired for even less, since there is no voice coil or wires.

I have Mike's 5" subwoofer upgrade in my 430 Scuderia. They are okay, but are not ideal in the Scuderia. The problem is the Becker 6112 has no additional amp, other than the internal one. Mike's speakers are less efficient than the oem ones, so there just isn't enough power to drive them well, or loudly. I imagine they work fine with 360/430 owner with the HIFI option.

When I get off my lazy butt, I will swap my oem speakers back into my car (they are in great shape), and list Mike's kit up with a healthy discount on the ads portion of the forum. When my oem speakers eventually suffer foam rot, I will have them repaired, done that with speakers before.

Of note, I don't think the HIFI option in the F430 is sufficient to drive anything decent either, believe that's only 100W

One good thing, my amp was upgraded to a 400W ArcAudio before I got the car or I'd be upgrading that too...

I've heard Flea7's F430 and it cranks. I believe his electronics are all stock, but he replaced the door speakers. I was impressed.

Yeah, that is what I am hoping will do the job for me. It will only be for longer drives and was hoping there was a recommended replacement speaker setup already out there for the door speakers.

That is a head scratcher. I personally installed these same drivers in a Scuderia (local to my location) at my house not 3 weeks ago - the owner was absolutely blown away by the improvement in the sound quality. It really was a significant improvement. Stock radio. His Scud is modified (suspension/exhaust/tune). He gave me a ride and now I want one! :)

All Stock. I have an upgrade stereo option from the factory with the disc. changer. It was not bad for stock. (this is what f355spider is referring to)
I did replace the passive subwoofer with ADS (old school) and the head unit but that did nothing to improve the sound. The amp didn't have enough juice to drive them.

The issue with some Scud's are that they don't have door panel speakers. The 16m does. I'm in the process of removing the stereo from the car. I'm having scud CF door panels put in so I am getting rid of the speakers, head unit, & the disc. changer.

I don't like to mess with the wiring or electronics on ferraris. It almost alway causes some sort of trouble or bugs down the road. This includes all the lighting and monitoring system that scuding.com provides. In my option, it's just not needed.

Oh, so you have the stock speakers. I thought of replacing the head unit with the Continental one people are raving about in the other thread, but I am not so sure now. I have exactly what you do, upgraded stock stereo from factory with cd changer in the boot.

    Mario,
The head unit upgrades the technology and the use of music and navigation, which is lacking with the Becker unit.

I listen to the radio in my Hyundai not my Ferrari. In the last 8 years I have turned on the radio about 3 times; rather listen to the engine sing. To each their own.:D

Most guys could listen to their engine scream at 8500 RPM for 8 hours straight. Their wives? Not so much. :)
