Good choice the 246/Daytona . If you get a chance say hello to the owner of the Black Countach , top guy .
I had a quick look and found this one in October ‘99. I vaguely recalled there being a yellow one for sale and this must be it. I’ll have to have a better look for a white one when I get more time… Image Unavailable, Please Login
I sold that car in the early 90’s. I got it from the original owner whom was a founder of the Brisbane Bears football club which is why it was yellow with maroon leather; they were the clubs colour. Team is now Brisbane Lions of course. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Did take a while and from memory only had a few thousand k’s on it. Wasn’t as good to drive as I thought it would be; I had my 308GTB at the time and it was much better. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I guess we all knew it wouldn't drive as well as a 308 (or any other exotic for that matter) in period - that its pretty raw, great grip but iffy dynamics as it transitions from understeer to oversteer or whatever it does - but deep deep deep down, you want someone to tell you otherwise.
Carl - are you exhibiting, judging or cruising the glory holes ? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
More memories…gearbox was clunky with quite a long throw, same ZF box as a Pantera etc. Power wasn’t excessive, Walky Group A engine. But it did have some character and it was an ‘Event’ to drive it. There should be more cars like it. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
I went out to buy an electric scooter but they want $5k for one, I'll keep walking thanks ..... bought one for my sister a couple of years ago for $1500
Well I learn something every day - have zero recollection of ever seeing a Sillhouette before... check out the door and handle on a regular X1/9 and you might see (put ya glasses on) why I thought it was related: https://images.app.goo.gl/6xRyFwCZvWBrRfmH6 Thanks again Rennie for all the great pics!
250SWB. Never seen one before! More pics to come… Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Be a good thing to drive the Sillhouette , being it was light with good HP, wonder how they would stack up against the same period 308? Be like ......Love vs hate?
Had one in the early 90's Rob, great looking car but not as good to drive as a 308GTB. There was nothing in the car that was as well built/thought out or just the feel of all the controls, as a good GTB. Nowhere near as fast in a straight line.
'Cough' I didn't need any type of eyewear to recognise that it is what it is....let alone look at the bloody door handles....
