I had a quick look and found this one in October ‘99. I vaguely recalled there being a yellow one for sale and this must be it.
I’ll have to have a better look for a white one when I get more time…

I sold that car in the early 90’s. I got it from the original owner whom was a founder of the Brisbane Bears football club which is why it was yellow with maroon leather; they were the clubs colour. Team is now Brisbane Lions of course.

Did take a while and from memory only had a few thousand k’s on it.

Wasn’t as good to drive as I thought it would be; I had my 308GTB at the time and it was much better.

I guess we all knew it wouldn't drive as well as a 308 (or any other exotic for that matter) in period - that its pretty raw, great grip but iffy dynamics as it transitions from understeer to oversteer or whatever it does - but deep deep deep down, you want someone to tell you otherwise.

More memories…gearbox was clunky with quite a long throw, same ZF box as a Pantera etc.

Power wasn’t excessive, Walky Group A engine.

But it did have some character and it was an ‘Event’ to drive it.

There should be more cars like it. :) :)

Well I learn something every day - have zero recollection of ever seeing a Sillhouette before... check out the door and handle on a regular X1/9 and you might see (put ya glasses on) why I thought it was related:

Be a good thing to drive the Sillhouette , being it was light with good HP, wonder how they would stack up against the same period 308?

Be like ......Love vs hate? :p

Had one in the early 90's Rob, great looking car but not as good to drive as a 308GTB.

There was nothing in the car that was as well built/thought out or just the feel of all the controls, as a good GTB.

Nowhere near as fast in a straight line.
