And slow traffic and it stops, recently my car has been running at about 218F. I’ll driving around town, sometimes it bounces a lot between 175F and 210F. This is occurring in weather around 50-70F. On the highway, it settles down and it’s just fine. I know these cars run hot, but I don’t remember it bouncing up this high and slow traffic.

It’s a tad high, check your coolant level. Mine was running low on coolant and ran a bit hot but didn’t get any warnings because I guess the coolant wasn’t too low.

thanks for the input. Totally did the trick. Added just under 2 quarts of 50-50 water and coolant. These must be pretty sensitive thermostats.
