    Top speed is all about power (the temperature and humidity play a role), drag, road gradient and gear ratios. Weight has an impact on acceleration. A car will reach its top speed slower having a passenger, but the top speed will be the same more or less (the deformation of tyres, thus the rolling resistance, dues to the higher weight might play a slight role).

    GF videoed the run and I captured a still from the video later. I’m not sure I would have wanted to let one hand go from the steering wheel at 220…

    Do u think 296GTB will top this speed? Ferrari says 296 top speed is 206mph. F8 if I am right they said 211 or 217 mph top speed.

    Wow! On my last F8 high speed run I chickened-out at 155mph. Suppose being on I-75 in SWF didn’t help the cause. At least the traffic moved over from the left lane. Sorta like the water’s parting in the Book of Exodus.

    Over the years, all USA speedo's were underrated 2-3% except for Police vehicles. So, 213-215 MPH

    220mph = 323 feet/second. I'd love to experience that speed. I doubt there is any track out there you can reach that speed or for that matter even cross 160mph on the straight way. Airport runways where they organize speed runs is probably the only place you can try top speed, and safely too. Truth be told, all of us have pushed our vehicles to ungodly speeds in public highways before chickening out. Chicken point varies with individuals and the size of their cajones, that's all, but flat out 220mph for a full minute = 3.7miles = titanium ballsy ... I tip my hat.

    Totally believable. Never tried it in the F8, but the 458 is 155+. That I’ve done.
    Lol, yes, if you pay attention to the corner station on the left. One of the best backstretches of track that exists. That braking zone downhill is a thrill.

    . I am tempted to bring the F8 to Daytona end of month for a Chin event. Been on Pocono and those marbles can get you in trouble if you take those sweepers too high!

    Best I did with the 488 was 268 kph / 167 mph (GPS speed, displayed speed was 277 kph / 172 mph) at Dijon-Prenois, which has a really long straight followed by a relatively mild right corner (unlike Magny-Cours, where the fastest sector is followed by a hairpin). An F8 would probably break the (real) 170 mph speed at Dijon.
    Le Castellet track has a very long straight, but it's typically divided by a chicane.
    Anyway, for road cars one typically needs several km to reach the top speed, so a track is not suitable, unless it's a high speed ring.
