send a vehicle onto track then pin it all on a driver..then cant race in rain then they cant race because any aggression is a penalty lol F1 these days is a joke lol
The tractor being on track was definitely a dumb move by the FIA and it isn't fair to pin it all on a driver, agreed.
After Leclerc's brutal summer of wins turning into DNF's and non-podium finishes, Ferrari are looking more consistent. 4th podium in a row for Leclerc now, and aside from his crack at the end here, Ferrari have looked better than Mercedes again in form.
They didn't complete the required amount of laps to warrant full points? That's why everyone out there was shocked by Herbert's announcement?
True but the tyre management is worsening against Red Bull. Worrying for next year. Looks like they will never understand tyres. Difficult to win championships with this recurrent flaw.
That was certainly a race worth waiting for! Masterclass from Max in very difficult conditions. Seems Lec pushed a bit too much early on and sealed his fate... Actually to all drivers they all drove fantasticly. Great racing for the entire 40 or so minutes that we saw. Biggest loser is the FIA for reasons discussed this whole topic. Congrats to Max on winning the title, which became an inevitability from Spa onwards really. Leclerc's defense was fantastic, I couldn't understand why Perez not once took the high line at any one point. As for his last lap, last corner...**** happens. Not giving Perez the room either, I'm going to guess here in similar situation every single driver would've done the same. Guaranteed to lose a place by letting him drive by or risk a penalty. No brainer. Didn't work out. Haas absolutely ****ed Schumacher with that ''strategy'' though. My god what was that.
Looking at those Pirelli "wet" tires, I can remember past inters that had more tread. "Full damp" tires. Ferrari does tend to lean too much on the tires. I even noticed that with my 328, compared to some Alfas I've owned.
No partial points because "Article 6.5 only applies in the event of race suspension that cannot be resumed, and therefore full points are awarded and Max Verstappen is World Champion".
Max is world champion, fair and square. LeClerc did a great job of holding off Perez, but he ran out of tires, went off the track, didn't give Perez the position, so he was penalized 5 seconds...and the race ended as it should have. Loved Ocon holding off Hamilton...that was a great fight. And every race this season makes me respect Alonzo more and more. I hope his move to AM gives him a car with more podiums in it. There was more action is the last forty minutes of this race, than in most full races.
the tyres are so useless. Pirelli complaining that the tyres work in the wet but cause too much spray. Why bother making them then in the first place if they're never to be used? The moment the race started drivers peeled into the pit to fit Inters because it was dry enough for them.
The Japan GP shows that Ferrari has big problem with tyres in any conditions. RedBull car gives their drivers so much more confidence to rely on. Kudos to Charles for bringing the car on the podium anyway, and being the only Ferrari in the race that fought to the end.
I hope the Budget Cap issue isn't going to tarnish Verstappen success; today we saw another good piece of driving from him.
