Car carries over to next year with some small changes (aerodynamically) so they better figure out their issue. Can/Will they? That's very hard thing to predict...Mercedes for years had tyre heating issues and still aren't on top of that...Even going as far as having a clever wheel rims with holes in them to heat the tyre up, to 2020's DAS...

Come on, stop this BS. I´m not saying that there is not room for improvement, but this season is not representative enough to make the comparisons you´re making. Leclerc never had a car to win the title: when you have to push, you crash more. Look at Hamilton: he´s made more mistakes these last two years than in the previous 5. This season Verstappen rarely was under pressure and still made some mistakes (Spain, Hungary), but he was lucky and have not any consequences. His driving also was erratic in the last races of 2021, when the Red Bull was a sitting duck compared to the Mercedes.

Some look like they enjoy kicking the guy who is already on the floor, jeez.

We saw it with Mika, we saw it with Michael. We saw Ferrari lose it when they went equal with Kimi and Massa. Brawn did the same with JB, RB did it with Vettel, Merc with Lewis, and now RB with Max again.

You back your fastest horse. If he likes a car a certain way, you make it that way. Be 50/50 with your drivers on everything, all you're going to get is disappointment, unless you've got a rocketship miles clear of the 2nd team, then you can play such games (See Merc 2014-16).

The porpoising degrades the tires from the oscillations. Eliminating it will solve a major factor of degradation, if not all of it.

Dude does it matter if max won it at the next race or today. Why don’t you get a job at Merc and complain with them.

Agree. I don’t understand how it’s not obvious how LEC stayed with VER at the beginning when conditions where at their worst, was pulling away from PER, set a faster FL than VER… and then the tires started to go away earlier and faster than on the RBs.

In the end it is the same old Ferrari. Good car out of the box, but they consistently are out-developed by their rivals and invariably suffer especially in terms of tire wear. Throw in crap strategy and reliability issues and it’s really getting harder to watch these clowns.

Unreal day for powered by Honda (now with the branding on the cars)
I still think Charles is the real deal and will have to battle his azz off to get second in the driver’s category

IIRC in 2008 Massa lost the title more from terrible pit stops than from equal treatment with Kimi...

Everything that occurs outside of each driver’s ability is what makes the difference in a Leclerc vs Verstappen match-up. Both of them with equal cars and equal support could be the greatest rivalry in F1 history. Leclerc would have taken the title this year if he was driving the Red Bull and Verstappen was in the Ferrari, probably at this same race. Both are exceptionally talented drivers. I’ve made it clear that I am firmly in Charles’s camp and don’t think it’s right to allow his circumstances (an incompetent Ferrari team) to taint his perceived value. Honest question: besides maybe Verstappen, if he’s your guy, who would do better? The clearly talented but villainous Russell? The likable but winless Norris? Reminder: Leclerc is a full 50 points ahead of the more experienced Sainz with Sainz inappropriately being favored. Four races to go.

They where a contributing factor, but the equal treatment malarky also held them back. At a time when Mclaren put their eggs in one basket, Ferrari split everything between their 2 drivers.

Their early season suspension upgrade really suited Massa but Kimi hated it. This wasn't swapped back until the last few races (on Kimi's car only) and instantly Kimi had confidence in the car again. A near full season asking for this suspension back resulted in a lost championship defence...The reason? Ferrari said that the new suspension looked better in the data and the rest of the car would be developed around it. It's understandable but since it could easily be swapped back, why not do it?

Congrats to Max! Well deserved. You could see Charles demeanor change when Max found out he was champion. All of the "what if's" came flooding into Charles mind. Let's hope Ferrari finish off strong.

Out of the current drivers on current up to date abilities I rate Max highest.

Leclerc a close second, probably on par with Lewis.

    Norris 3rd with Russell

Sainz, Perez, Alonso (age caught up with him), Albon 4th tier

Ocon, Vettel, Magnussen, Ricciardo, Gasly, Tsunoda, Zhou, Bottas

    Stroll, Schumacher

    Latifi

Not rating De Vries and Hulkenberg as didn't do a full season.

If you possess any of the drivers in the top 3 tiers, you don't need to change them. The drivers aren't Ferrari's issue. Yes Charles made a few mistakes this season but ultimately not championship deciding ones. If you have a top 3 tier driver, build a car around them and tell the rest to follow suit or find another job. There'll be 10 other drivers begging to be in the 2nd seat as it gives them the chance of podiums and wins.

One thing is for sure with Charles: Insanely talented and has a love for Ferrari that very few posess. Whilst the latter isn't exactly a special super power, it buys time. Ferrari better spend it wisely.

Anybody has got enough of wet races now? :D
    Anyway:
RedBull - the best team of 2022, and Verstappen - won the driver's championship.

FIA can finally disclose who breached the budget cap :D

Max is WDC, but a weird situation to get crowned like last year. I feel for Charles, great driver and no drama on the track, just unfortunate circumstances today. Glad I didn't stay up to watch the race but it was 1000 times better than Singapore

It was really stupid...such a complicated way of writing the rules, that no one that should've known (commentators and teams) where even aware of it. Would've been nice for the FIA to kinda communicate this in the 2.5 hours they had when **** all was happening.

Whilst the result of the championship was inevitable at this point, it would've been nice for Max to celebrate it in style and not come out the car thinking ''yeah whatever I just won a race". Even a man from the FIA had to come to him to confirm...then red bull assured him he needed 1 more point, then again they said ''no actually you did win...''

    A minor point but still.

Ferrari won't change. Heads should have started rolling after Monaco, but instead, we have Binotto saying there is nothing wrong with the pit wall and placing blame on the car designers.

Binotto lost the WCC and WDC for Ferrari this year, and I have seen nothing out of anyone there that suggests they are willing to fix their massive shortcomings. They are doubling and tripling down on stupid and are content with it.

Congrats to Max for another WDC!

LeClerc drove great but it wasn't meant to be.

Don't quite understand how they voted Vettel as driver of the day. He was the first one to spin out. Oh well.
