I cannot believe my luck, i had the 599 serviced in mid August at my local Ferrari dealership, based on the cars age and mileage i decided to give her the works, so F1 gearbox oil, gearbox oil, new sparkplugs, auxillary belts, coolant, brake fluid, etc, etc, were all changed.
But she is back at the dealership today as the last month has been a nightmare! here are the symptoms and faults:
    1. Smell of burning rubber in the cabin, normally occurs after spirited /hard driving, but it did it yesterday after a normal cruise. Definitely burning rubber, not oil or clutch smell. The smell occurs when i pull in and stop, but disappears after 10 seconds or so?
    2. Engine is cutting out. First time this occurred i was simply reversing into a parking bay, but today on my way to the dealership i had only driven 100yds and it cut out at the traffic lights, this time i had the check engine warning symbol on the screen.
    3. Increase in fuel consumption, yeah i know its a 599, but she is definitely using more fuel than normal.

It is exactly 1 year since i bought the car, so the warranty at the original Ferrari specialist i bought her from has now expired.
When i first bought the car a crankcase breather pipe failed causing oil to drip onto the exhaust manifolds, but this resulted in white smoke appearing at the bonnet vents.
I know **** happens, but they gave her a clean bill of health after the service.
I will keep you posted on what the dealership finds.

Just checking that this isn't what a spirited drive looks like for you? :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I would think that the dealer would have at least a 30-day warranty on its work. Sounds like they did less than a 100% perfect service job and left something disconnected that is the source of the burning smell and contributing to the check engine light.

Complain, complain, complain, but do it diplomatically.

My dad's 599 had a similar issue to #1. Turned out to be a cam cover gasket. Smelled every time the car started for about 10 seconds and then disappeared. I posted a thread about it - you should be able to find it on my profile. I'm on mobile at the moment - not sure how to link to it. Ours also had smoke coming out for the 10 seconds under the windshield, see video below at that link - not sure if yours does too. The other video from that link was an unrelated rattling noise. Hope this helps!

Many thanks for all your replies, its greatly appreciated.
So! - i collected the car this morning from the dealership, firstly they said they would not charge me as it was so close to me having the major service completed, so fair on their behalf.
What did they find? - nothing really.
After removing the undertrays all they found was a build-up leaves around the rear silencers? They could find no evidence of any anything catching or rubbing that may give a " burning rubber " smell.
The car had been test driven by 3 separate technicians and on all occasions the car did not stall, and non of them noticed a burning smell after coming to a rest.
However, they did say they carried out a " Yaw " reset on all 4 sensors?
The technician was also being fair when he said that he wished that they had found something.
I did notice something different though on the home - normally when in " Auto Mode " if i changed up myself via the paddles, the " Auto " icon on the dash would flash a few times before going back to " Auto ", it does not flash anymore, simply stays on " Auto " all of the time.

So, time will tell as they say, if it starts to play up again i think i will make a trip back to the independent Ferrari specialist i bought the car from.
Again, i appreciate all your feedback.
