I am curious what you folks think. I am wondering about Ceramic Matrix Gray with edge red stripes and black/red interior (too bad edge red calipers are on constraint for the foreseeable future). Having seen C8s with and without stripes I think they are visually very appealing in that they draw the eye to the center of the car and accentuate the pointed nose.
What I am wondering about is body colored accents, like the side air intake molding vs. the standard carbon flash. I think with the lighter car the carbon flash side intake molding really draws your eye to that gaping hole, and perhaps body colored will make the side of the car more sleek and harmonious?
Second consideration: If you get body colored accents option then the front grill insert is body colored and I’m conflicted on whether that is a good design element or not. With it being body colored does it extend the front visually and make the nose appear more pronounced and low to the ground, or if you opt for carbon fiber inserts does that darkness make the front look more menacing?
I know designs are deeply founded in aesthetic opinion but I’d be curious what some of you all, and the more trained eyes like @jm2 and @anunakki, think when considering these issues.
    Thanks for input!

I prefer the second one as I do not like the side contrast. I do like the front grill contrast as it is not so prominent.

I'm flattered that you would even ask me for a comment.

However, I wouldn't tell someone how to spec their car. That's such a personal thing.

Interested reading the reactions in that it seemed split either way.

In these things there are no right and wrong answers, just ones that you prefer. Living where I do, close to the GM Mothership, I've seen just about every conceivable C8 color combination and spec. The team that did that car are close friends of mine.

You have the right inclination regarding body color v black boomerang and trim. One certainly draws your attention and the other blends in depending on the main body color. So it's a matter of which YOU prefer. Don't worry about what others think or say, you're the one making the statement, and there are no right or wrong answers. Like art, beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder, and in this case it looks good either way.

I know that sounds like a cop-out, but I speak the truth as my 50 yrs of experience tells it.
Give 10 designers the same set of criteria, and you'll get 10 different answers.

Good luck, you can't go wrong!

It looks flat and light grey in shadow. It looks pearl white in sun (metallic only shows in sunlight). It changes a crazy amount, like having 2 different cars. Really hard to capture with a camera
I do think it favors blue complimentary colors (I had the blue 2 tone interior which was eye catching- got lots and lots of compliments).

Ceramic Matrix Gray is very much a chameleon color, as you can see above. Sometimes white, sometimes baby blue, sometimes very light gray. Were it not for the intro of Silver Flare Metallic for MY2021, I would have gotten CMG.
FWIW, Silver Flare Metallic is also a chameleon color, going from Gold/Pewter to light blue to silver, in the same photo.
To your question...I went round and round on the body color trim verses carbon flash trim, and ended up with the latter (obviously). And 19 months later, I'm still going round and round. If I can match the Silver Flare (with wrap), I might have just the boomerangs wrapped. I like the Carbon Flash on the rear fascia grills, engine cover and front.

In the FWIW category, I am not a fan of the standard Z51 rear spoiler, and were it me, I would get the "low profile" spoiler (no cost option). I think it looks better and more integrated.

The low profile spoiler (not my car but Silver Flare also)

    To Italiafan,
If you are going to track the car, you should stick to the regular Z51 spoiler (which does provide a fair amount of downforce). I doubt the "low profile" spoiler does much except look good (IMO)

First one- To my eye the car needs the contrast- I helped spec my friends hypersonic grey C8 and he went with the carbon accents- Looks amazing- Cheers

That silver flair looks amazing! I might do that instead of CMG.

    Obviously, I'm partial!
    Either color is great.
If it matters, neither color is common, with Ceramic Matrix Gray being in 9th place out of 12 colors for MY2022 and Silver Flare being 11th out of 12 in MY2022

High wing and low wing produce the same amount of downforce. High wing produces less drag.
