Thanks for the tip. I guess I'll have to raise the price on my car another $100k. ;)

I recall when I brought it the shop doing the service said it had one of the best interiors he had in a long time.

Also, in regards to embossing “airbag” , I’m one of those guys who needs to triple check the font, size, and positioning. Font and size need to be 99% accurate. Positioning needs to be 95% accurate. I wouldn’t be satisfied with anything less.

Dave is the same way. If you pay close attention to his work, he goes out of his way to make sure the fonts and their positioning are 95%+ close to OE when doing his laser engraving sticky work. These cars deserve that level of detail and we’re lucky to have someone who cares about that stuff.

I even questioned him on the black color of his finish an its accuracy to OE. He said it’s a “100%” match. I like that level of confidence.

I found a radio luckily. Functions perfectly with cassette player working as well. Just haven’t gotten around to having it put in. Did you get yours fixed?

Speaking of which. (details that is)

I've been meaning to ask if you had the part number for the horn button for non-airbag 355 wheel. (without the little yellow horn on it)

Agreed Dave's work is top notch.

One thing I know for certain. I’d take a pre-airbag steering wheel over shields.

Other than the F1 though, is there anything particularly wrong with it or that needs to be addressed? I see the dash/center console are a little worse for the wear, but that exterior color is stunning and the red leather is a nice contrast to it.

The Euros are coming. I've talked about this before.

Imported to be sold? Euro to US flip. Similar car with 47,000 KM going for 110,000 euros on Mobile . de

The million dollar question is if there will be enough of them to affect prices of U.S spec cars? There is still the CA registration factor. CA is a pretty big market. I know I can’t buy one and legally register it.

There also seems to be more known Carfax, service history with U.S cars.

There seems to be a lot of things you can't do in CA these days.;)But as you know, I've talking about euro prices compared to the US for a long time. There just isn't that difference between the different models in Europe, even F1s. The US is a spider market. Always has been. Eurpoe is more balanced.

Anyway, when you can pick up a Euro GTS for 100,000 to 140,000 euros it's about time they started floating over here to be sold for $300,000. No matter how you cut it, there were more that 2000 gated GTSs built, 2600+ gated spiders and a whopping 3800+ gated Bs.

Well, 355 prices have been on the up and up for about a year. I see one Euro 355 brought over, which is the car currently on BAT. That's not exactly a flood of cars.

Now because of the strong U.S dollar, we might see more cars here in the future, but that's credited to the strong dollar as of recent. If the dollar had remained the same as it was in Jan, the price discrepancy would be much less, when you factor in import costs, market risk factors and CA registration ineligibility.

Eric from Stradale Vintage said as of yesterday as a matter of fact, he has a ton of inquiries from the U.S, but no one has actually pulled the trigger. There's still alot of hesitancy even with the strong dollar. Now that could be a hesitancy with the car of interest or the U.S market 6 months from now. Who knows? He says the majority of his buyers are still from the middle east and asia, not the U.S.

The Euro car situation is not just exacerbated by the highly appreciated USD, but also the rapidly deteriorating economic conditions facing Europe as a result of Señor Putin…

Think about it, their currency is tanking, their stock indices as well, costs are accelerating much more rapidly than in the U.S., and there is no reasonable end in sight at the moment. Not a good combination, so if you’ve enjoyed a car for many years then yeah, maybe as an EU citizen you’d feel the pressure to sell.

Especially as we enter the colder months with incredibly high energy costs for them. Perfect storm.

I know in the past I have advised to take advantage of the strong U.S dollar. However, that is more me encouraging an enthusiasts looking to buy a car to keep as he is more likely to find a deal that way. That simply implies the car is brought over to keep and enjoy, not necessarily flood the market. If someone is trying to perform arbitrage as a business, there is time delay. Time car is bought in Europe to the time car arrives in U.S, checks all importation boxes and ultimately prepared for sale. That could take up to 6 months or more. Who knows what the hell could happen 6 months from now? There are market risks.

IMO, there needs to be strong price results for Euro-spec cars in the U.S first before you start seeing Americans begin to attempt arbitrage and flood the market.
