The second last time the pigs pulled me over I was driving back to the Isa from the Gold Coast after my wedding in late November 2009.

I overtook a typical grey nomad near Mitchell that was driving 80 km/h in a 110km/h zone in his clapped out 1993 Holden Jackaroo petrol wagon that was towing an overloaded ratty 1980's 30ft caravan and the cops caught me coming the other way doing 117 km/h because I coasted up behind the old cooter rather quickly and cruised past him with a slight twitch of the right boot in the old VZ Statesman and I got caught speeding much to my disgust.

The Cop "let me off" 1 km/h to bring it back to under 7 km/h (116 km/h) after I explained to him that old mate was driving like an old lady going to church on a Sunday and I easily navigated around him on the straight open flats, yet I still copped a $310 fine and 1 point.

Otherwise it should have been a $600 fine and 3 points he said.

That was the first and last time I have been caught speeding.
