Just got back from CP at the concurs club. What an amazing experience ! Many have already outlined the experience. One of the things I came away from was how amazing the F8 is as a durable performing beast. From the emergency braking exercise, the drifting, and the flying laps these cars are incredible and trustworthy. Learning to hit the brakes on turn two at 80 and release made me realize how predictable and reproducible the effect was. Running these cars lap after lap with “brake temperature “ and engine lights on was interesting.

These two days made me rethink how use my cars and how I order them. I need a RC / Nero coupe with leds, racing seats telemetry and shields. That’s it.

Didn’t notice the color stitching once.

I did CP Sport and Advanced back to back summer of '21 at Indy. And yes to epiphany! I don't recall brake or temp warnings and it was mid July, very hot weather. I owned a Pista and the F8 is formidable. We had 812's too at the sessions, but the F8 was way better on the track.

Do the cars they give you to use have any modifications you are aware of for track use?

No modifications. The program gets their cars new from the factory. They use the cars for about 4k to 5k in miles, and then the cars are sold.

I am positive on the resale. The sales manager at my dealership told me that he does not buy these cars when they become available.

The actual mileage when they are sold may vary. When I took both Corsa Pilota and Advanced Corsa Pilota I was told that they try to swap out cars at approximately 5000 miles. Interestingly enough the Corsa Pilota program has to order cars and get in line along with the rest of us. For the swap to the 296 the program was competing with dealers for demo cars, the press cars, and client orders. When I took the advanced class in July they had ordered their 296 cars but were waiting for deliveries. Obviously they get some priority, but it is not an automatic jump to the front of the line.

Wow congrats!!!!!! I bet it was an amazing time. I had a chance to sit with an instructor from the program for 20 minutes last year at a demo drive event and it was the best 20m of my life. I’m leaving myself open for some jokes there.

To my understanding, that weekend was the last for the F8 in the driving school, as the plan earlier in the year was to complete the transition to the 296 fully after running both cars for a couple weekends. If they are going to be up for sale, better start figuring out where, see who can give you an in :)

God I really want to do this program… next year, next year… [emoji23]
