Has anyone had experience with adding power steering to their 308? After having two rotator cuff tears, some help might be appreciated. Thanks

Sell the car if you cant steer it ! lol There are threads here talking about some electric contraption that helps old / crippled up men steer their 3 x8s at parking lot speeds, a waste of money if you ask me . They say that it only helps at slow speeds, and once the car gets moving, the feel of the steering comes back to normal .

Low speed is all I want. I’ve owned this car for 24 years, and still love driving it even more than our 360, which does have power steering!

I have electric power steering on my S1 E type Jag (running wider wheels and tires and greater track than standard) and it's very nice indeed to have for parking manoevers. It fits under the dash and is totally unobtrusive and was about a half day DIY install. Mine is from EZSteering from the Netherlands but there are several companies out there adapting modern OEM systems to vintage cars. Not cheap, but typically a bolt in mod without butchery to the car.

The 308 doesn't seem to need PS, from my perspective, but perhaps one day I'll have a different opinion.

The need for power steering, I assume depends upon how you drive the car. If you are running errands and need to park the car frequently, then maybe it would be a benefit. In normal driving on the road, I don’t believe that it’s needed.

Sorry, don't know. I know it's the same for 308/328.

I have no experience with the EZ power steering system for 308...but i put it in my Daytona. I love it! A few things...i had a pro mechanic do the install and done in my garage, so I got a chance to observe the whole thing...notta DIY job, in my opinion. Forget the naysayers who don't know a rotator cuff injury from s case of syphilis. (This includes some of the internet experts) If it allows you to continue your long term loving ownership, just do it...you'll only wish you'd done it sooner. steve
