It is a big difference. Below pretty much the same car as the one that sold on BaT, same colour and mileage. Advertised at £875k net of taxes which is $1mm net. That compares to $1.4mm before tax in the US. A broker s offering a similar car in that colour in Europe at 1.6mm euros. With that said UK supplied RHD are much rarer. Those cars feel like a bargain in the UK

youcan check pretty much the same car in Switzerland at at 1.5mm https://www.theparking-cars.co.uk/used-cars/ferrari-f12-tdf.html its only a matter of time before prices move up quick in the UK even more so considering the rarity of RHD cars
I’m not sure what the exact vat/import duty are from the UK to US I don’t think it should be hard to import a car from the UK , DK Engineering have lots of clients in the US and regularly export cars from the UK to the US. As far as I’m aware only about 50/55 UK supplied RHD tdf were produced.
Perhaps because RHD cars is a smaller market. Plus any car to be exported out of the UK will pay custom taxes and VAT anywhere now.
You are right post brexit there are now duties to Europe however there are no changes to the import duties to anywhere else other than the EU which is a LHD market anyways. Pre brexit on the contrary it was the UK importing from the EU and LHD cars selling at a discount to RHD cars. Today anyone importing a LHD tdf from the EU net of all import duties and taxes will end up paying about double the price of a rarer UK supplied RHD vehicle which to me doesn’t make sense value-wise. You could probably today still buy a RHD in the UK and export it to another RHD market or even to the USA and pay less than the price of the car in the country of destination. I would have thought collector car prices should be consistent from a global standpoint. Another exemple : 458 Speciale in the US with low mileage are selling sometimes north of $600k + tax while in the UK they are around £400k net which means easily $250k difference that to me as well is an anomaly.
Didn’t take long to sell. I saw this car in person imo it has to be one of best tdf in existence and also the only tdf in that colour which itself is a very rare colour. Very very special car
Ferrari of Newport Beach recently had a red tdf, 859 miles no stripe and full leather interior advertised at $1.599mm. No longer available I assume it sold which is a very strong figure.. for yes a clean spec car but not so special or unique from a spec point of view. Strong sale if it did indeed sell.
Sold for £850,500 for a 5,000 mile UK RHD car in Nuovo Rosso on Collecting Cars https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2017-ferrari-f12-tdf
The interior feels a bit too busy and personal in my opinion and given the mileage it seems to indicate prices are starting to catch up in the UK although still behind european and US cars
I think that's the first TDF I've seen with a painted fuel filler cap. Bit of a shame to hide it like that since it's one of the best details of the car imho.
The Apple car play option was not available when the car was unveiled. I remember that it took a few months before it appeared on the option list. I got the information by chance from a lady I was in touch with at the Atelier but it was too late for me to get it. My guess is that very few cars have it. I asked my dealer if it can be fitted afterwards (with an indecent price tag of course) and the answer was “no way”.
I’m not sure you really need that option in this car anyways. If anything it feels purer / pre new tech generation without it imo. I personally don’t see the need to have it in mine
I fully agree with you for usual apple apps. No need. The thing is that in Europ and especially in France speed control radars and police controls are just crazy and I use Waze plus coyote apps simultaneously on the roads. Car play is very useful for this. Having said that, no carplay in my F40 or 288gto and I still have a good time with both!
Never driven the 288 gto out of curiosity how does it compare to other halo ferraris & tdf ?i’ve heard mixed feedback about how it drives so interested to hear your thoughts.
Like other tdf owners, I think that this car is a modern F40. Both cars are very special to drive, you need to be really, really focused on a very clean steering. Both cars are then tremendously rewarding. I personally consider that none of them are wild beasts or unpredictable. Edgy? Perhaps. But it is what makes them so special and entertaining. Having said that, the F40 is all about the the old style turbo. You do need to know when it will blow and be prepared. But this becomes very natural when you get used to the car. When you get to that point it gets just crazy and the power that gets out of it is huge , even by today’s standards. And the gto is just the same, with a bit less power and a more « comfy » environment compared to the racing environment of the f40. But make no mistake : you need to stay focused ! All 3 cars are fantastic to take for a spirited drive: different characters but so pleasant and rewarding, so beautiful and fantastic sound (megafono on the gto is clearly the way to go!) Not sure if my English is good enough to make my answer clear enough but I tried !
288 is like a blown-up go kart, tons of fun, but always be very awake. Tremendous fun. Marcel Massini
https://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/listing/2017/ferrari/f12tdf/91612 Sold very quickly. Even before we got a chance to see the pictures!
It’s refreshing to see one that is not red. Would be nice to see another very special / cool tailor made coming up for sale. The last one i can remember was earlier this year was the white TM with bordeaux heritage leather interior. Also haven’t seen a nice yellow through the dealer network for a while.
