A lot of time was spent setting up the car in terms of suspension! At the moment the temptation is to go for open trumpets.....

Would you mind sharing, even if privately, what the ride-height settings (numbers), especially front, currently are and how were they achieved ?
I'm just trying to collect reference data.

Do you mean open exhaust without mufflers or velocity stacks on carburetors without OEM air cleaner ?
    Just curious.

Yes as far as I recall everything was done to factory spec.

Open velocity stacks because, when the carbs were being tuned, took the car for a quick short drive with the air cleaner off..wow!

I'll ask the restorer what the ride height stats are, as it turns out the car is going to have to go back for some work because the limited slip has been set up very aggressively and it was thought over time this would loosen up. This this set up is just a bit too aggressive for the road, though it is absolutely superb on track!

    Thanks for clarifying “open trumpets”.

While you’re talking with the restorer, would you mind asking and perhaps share (privately, if you prefer) what the current setting on the limited slip is and what it might be expected to (or will) be after “loosening” ?

Howard, ALL the originally designed/intended factory suspension alignment specs are in the service manual, but as I’ve mentioned before (more than once), due what I’ve long suspected being an engineering miscalculation/mistake, I seriously doubt many, if any, cars actually left the factory with those.

I also believe this “mistake(?)” is (at least partially) why so many Daytonas over the years/decades seem to have been converted to adjustable aftermarket coil-overs (like seen in Albertos post #3031, for example) and if not, their usually inaccurate front suspension ride height can often be spotted rather easily (hence my curiosity on Jacques' car).

Thanks Timo, I look forward to your input to my car when we get it to that stage. I dont know anyone with more experience than you.
