I simply believe that you have gone into a delirium that you feed yourself...
If the PS is criticized, it is because the concept does not match the brand. Quite simply !
An SUV is a trendy car today, and what could be more trendy than having a Ferrari SUV, even if it weighs 2300 kg and is as big as a truck.
This is what the new clientele wants / a huge car that could symbolically run over others.
Afterwards, I don't mind people trying to make us believe that it's for riding with it on a daily basis, but that's wrong for two reasons. The first is that if you put miles on a 500k car, it will do like all Ferraris and its resale value will drop, which the vast majority of owners don't want.
The second is that hardly anyone here in Europe is going to work in a Ferrari, and no more in Lusso than in PS or others, because it has negative connotations and it's not good for the career and/or the business!

  3. Both the Urus and the G Wagon prices were really the result of the pandemic.

Look at Urus prices now? Holding steady and declining. Lots of used ones on the market, and none are moving. G Wagons? Dealers were asking for 100k markups. Now? 20k maybe. MSRP clearly within sights if you bargain hard enough. Lost of MB dealers are sitting on parking lots of G Wagons and sweating on how they're going to unload them -- it costs money just to park a G wagon, cuz real estate is expensive in the US (of course, part of that is MB screwing with people making them believe that this was the last generation of ICE G wagons ... but still.)

Yet here you are, still trashing this car.

I'm not the thought police. Do you.

We all know the world is full of haters. We know the type. Rap stars often discuss them in their lyrics.

I'm just constantly surprised how eager grown men are to place that trophy on their mantle.

In last year's Casa Ferrari, I talked to several top clients. I asked them about the PS, some didn't even know about it. When mentioned, the worst I saw was a shrug, to "I have two on order."

The loudest complainers are outside the building, yelling as loud as they can so folks inside hear it.

Well I hear you guys, and I don't worry, I understand you guys more than ever.

My personal opinion is this on the depreciation front: if you are worried about depreciation, you cannot afford the car OR, you are purchasing for reasons other than love of the car &driving.

This is your argument against this car? “Most” owners (not me) won’t drive it daily since they don’t want it to depreciate, people in Europe are afraid to drive it to work because it’s negative, and people want a huge car (PS is relatively small and low riding) to symbolically run over others?

What? Do you realize a lot of the people you describe already have SUVs, and ones that are larger than PS?

And who cares if a bunch of scaredy cats are afraid to drive it for various reasons. This means it should not exist for anyone to put next to their other F cars?

This is what the argument is based on?

If this is how you live your life my friend, in constant fear of depreciation/symbolically being run over/others at work, I don’t know how you do it, but maybe the problem is more internal than with the PS. The car, after all, is just a car.

And a muscular, beautiful, V12 ripping one at that.

    I can’t wait.

How about you would really like to maintain your TOP or VIP status and since you were lucky to be “allocated” a $500,000 SUV with an 18 month lockup that you have zero interest in, you are trying to figure out if it is going to cost you any money?

Thank you for saying it. According to some here, “most owners” won’t drive it often for fear of depreciation, therefore the use case is invalidated, and it should not exist.

That is not what Ferrari is about!

And these people claim the title of “purist” for themselves…depressing.

They are not purists, they are penny pinching and fearful, neither of which one should be behind the wheel of a FERRARI.

These cars are about freedom, the experience, and leaving it all behind.

    Kindly get over yourselves.

Jeez lots of pontificating here. Ferrari is forcing clients to buy a half a million dollar SUV that many clients have zero interest in by making pretty blatant threats of being blacklisted if they don’t take the car AND they can’t sell it for a year and a half in the open market. I don’t think folks in that boat that are concerned about depreciation are not “purists”. Maybe it’s exactly because they are purists that they might have no interest in a bloated 4 seater.

Well, I don’t play the games. I buy what I like if I can. Not being able to purchase a car because I am not VIP or TOP may be irritating but it does not diminish my life one iota.

I get what you are saying. But nobody is forced. Another example of that kind of silliness was Ford. I have a beautiful low mole 2006 Ford GT. I wanted to order a matching 2016, but Ford made it some kind of silly contest to earn the right to spend the bucks. Hard pass. My life is fine without it.

Novel viewpoint. It sucks because we’re being forced to buy it.

Imagine being forced to buy something that many are literally begging for. Haha!

I guess you weren’t there when clients were being forced to buy an FF.

The PS is just a car.
A very powerful, expensive car, but just a car that they will make several thousand examples of.

Trying to project this as some sort of masterpiece to be preserved is nonsense.

And since it is a car, then just drive it as it was intended.

I am sure that in well heeled locales it will just be a grocery getter on a higher rung than the urus … that’s all.
Only you can decide if it makes sense for your life or budget.

But after that, its just a car and not museum piece.

Meh, I have always had thick skin so I don't get overly sensitive when/if someone says something negative. I don't see anything wrong with contrary opinions in public or in an open forum as long as they aren't direct personal attacks. I certainly wouldn't call it bullying, bad taste, maybe. I have heard it all and at this stage in life I could care less what others think.

note that G-wagen run-up on price was due to MB indicating it will stop production of V8s...and then a few months later reverted...that was the primary cause of the G-wagen price run-up and now deflation

Oh for sure, nobody afterall here is arguing for anyone to be banned, or anybody's post to be deleted. I'm with you brother, free speech is an important thing.

I mean, if somebody says folks that don't like this car should be booted out of here, or not allowed to participate, I would be the first to say that's wrong.

But it's sooooo unpure as the fast and furious crowd are left in the dust.....my car is worst performing and slower, but hey I at least can tell myself "I'm pure." Whatever the hell that means.

Cognitive dissonance is an interesting thing when witnessed.
