Exactly. If you have to pull up a car that had a side impact to make an argument... the argument is already lost. If no one wanted the car in the U.S back then... what makes one think we want it now?

Fly over and take a look at a car that had side impact? Is traveling to Europe free or something . It was brought to Europe in the first place for a reason. To muddy the damage history.
Remember... no one wanted the Silver GTB even at $100k. And that's with damage pictures, receipts, and at least some record of history.
This car? https://www.classiccollection.fi/ferrari-f355-berlinetta-1995 It has U.S spec front and rear bumpers with side reflectors removed. They also drilled a hole on the fenders for the side indicators, but it's totally in the wrong spot. Micky mouse stuff.
Someone in the Nordic region is still attempting to repair this car for resale . https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148453099/

@Tarek307 is doing the right thing. Traveling to Europe, checking out the cars in person. Getting a better feel for what he's buying. I know certain things are unpredictable, but imagine if he had just simply shipped that silver GTB and it burned down here a week after arrival.
Caught this regarding the recent Bobileff GTS in the current SCM, thought I'd post it up. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice find. My critic would be the author failed to realize the car sold at a discount, not a premium, so everything was factored in.
I particularly like the "A lot of service means it has needed a lot of service, is that a good thing?" I tend to agree that it's not. Excessive records scare me.
I don't have chrystal ball or have any inside information about this car but I would speculate that the backstory is not for muddying the damage history but to have a lower cost f355 for local, European market. In 2010 f355 when this car was imported European market appreciated f355 more than US market. The extraorbitant f355 price level in US is pretty new phenomenon. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/f355-prices-the-only-way-is-up.313183/ Anyway, just a pointer.
The author of the piece, Steve Ahlgrim, does have a better handle on the Ferrari market than most, if not on all the nuances of the 355 market specifically - I do agree that the negatives were factored in here, but at the same time, his line "the blue is attractive, but is it really worth tens of thousands of dollars?" has the ring of sense to me, in a not-seeing-the-forest-for-the-trees sort of way.
Nice find From that thread… I’ve met Steve and bought parts from him. Nice gentlemen. He knows the 355 wreckage business in and out. Image Unavailable, Please Login
