Are you ordering one? I have a deposit in but also have an Urus Perf coming next year. Not sure which I'll favor but I'm liking the PS so far. I do need to see one in person.

That Urus P couldn’t be more different than the Purosangue. Steel springs vs the active suspension. Turbo parts bin V8 vs V12 NA. I’d like to hear that report from you. Down the road.

 

Over here in Europe I don’t see anyone being forced. All dealers have way more interested buyers than cars.
On the lockup, I think Ferrari is simply trying to avoid speculation on the car. They did it on the Monza, everyone back then talked the car down and derided the lockup and look at the prices now that most lockups have expired.

The Monza prices are unique in that you’ve got to own one (current) if you want an SP3 or other future allocations of the same line. In addition the retrofit show and display kit makes them more useable and appealing in broader markets.

 

I know off topic but just curious, what have the Monza prices been? I haven’t seen any for sale.

I must be careful that I do not laugh myself to death from so much bigotry and vanity of a few people here. Since someone notes that a new car from Ferrari will probably lose its value just like so many other of these great V12 cars and already you are presented as a heretic and hater of the brand. Then these tough guys tell you that they buy this car just to drive it and beat the miles out of its chassis but then act like lukewarm brothers and try to nip the discussion about the depreciation of their baby in the bud. Sorry, but such people are not to be taken seriously.

 

I think it is sad that Europe has become a place where success is envied so badly that one cannot enjoy things. Every time I drive, people give thumbs up and comment on the beauty of the car. But I hear there are places in the USA where that is not the case.

Quite arrogant to portray all Europeans like that. After all, the most beautiful cars still come from Europe, just think about it.

And it's embarrassing when people can't stand a discussion about a possible loss in value of a car, but then present themselves as if they don't care. Then I also don't understand that the discussion about the possible loss of value of a car is equated with hate and envy.

Look: I have owned two Ferrari 12 cylinder 2+2 seaters. Both wonderful cars, I loved them. And yet, I have talked to my colleagues about why the depreciation on these cars is usually much higher than on the two-seater Ferraris (front-mid or rear-mid engine), in my eyes a perfectly normal discussion.

I find the PS sensational, currently the most attractive SUV by far. And yet I suspect regarding the depreciation of this car the same fate as with all other super SUV's and Ferrari 2+2 seaters. Should it not be so then that would be a sensation and completely out of the ordinary. This assumption does not make me a hater or envious.

Regarding Europe, of course there is the left scene and the enviers also here. Nevertheless, with my two McLaren and the Maserati, I get practically only positive reactions. I love to drive my cars here (in my case in Switzerland). Ok, regarding the speed limit you have to be damn careful in Switzerland, but has nothing to do with hate or envy. But with a little experience, you realize that the police can't be omnipresent here either...

 

What I can tell you is that here in Europe, very few people use their Ferrari to go to work, whatever their position or function, with the exception of Switzerland and Monaco.
I deplore it, but it is a reality to take into account if we want to avoid all kinds of problems.
And the PS will be no exception... so sell it as a daily car, it makes me laugh...they will come out on weekends like the other F-cars !

 

I certainly meant no offense and was merely responding to what was being said regarding driving Ferraris. A comment about cultural changes are hardly an indictment of all people.

I am glad you can drive nice cars in Switzerland! Apparently that is not the case in other parts of Europe. Just as it is not true in all parts of North America.

And yes, I am aware that Italy and Germany are in Europe!! Hahaha!

The appeal to me is not to use it as a daily car, too expensive and nice for that. But…is there such a thing as a semi-daily? By that I mean that I will use it for nice evenings out, especially in the dark nights and winter where the weather can be a bit unsuitable or un-enjoyable for an SF90 or a 298, weekend trips where more than one passenger is joining (I often find myself in situations where I want to drive something nice but it’s anti-social to use a 2-seater car). I’ve owned both FF and Lusso and the PuroSangue looks nicer than both and having those discreet rear doors looks vey useful too. The more I think of it it will fill a role nicely without being a high mileage daily driver - I use a 911 and a pickup for that.

I actually do think it will hold value early but it will likely have a moment where value is much less than we paid for it. However, with EVs becoming much more prevalent, a V12 4x4 urban ‘sports utility car’ could be a very nice thing indeed to have in the garage and as such might be a valuable car longer term. I doubt they are planning another one.

I also don’t think Enzo would have any problem with this car. I get the feeling his biggest conceptual issue was building any road cars in the first place - he only decided to ‘lower’ himself to that level because of the necessity to raise funds for racing. He himself used the 250 GT/E which was a comparative luxo-barge. What really is the problem with allowing Ferrari owners and lovers of the brand to drive a Ferrari on more occasions, times when one of the more usual Ferrari products don’t really work? Sounds like a case of paying attention to your customers wants and needs to me. I’m in favour of the Purosangue and think they did a great job with it. Is it a sports car? Perhaps. Is it a track car? Definitely No. Can it be a Ferrari? Yes.

 

I live in Silicon Valley, so I see it all the time. A guy down the block from me parks his Especiale on the street because he ran out of space. That's what truly makes me laugh. I mean, I run into lots of Middle Eastern residents whenever I visit London, they use their exotics as dailies.

Sure, in some areas, any Ferrari is a garage queen; I acknowledge that. I'm not so bold to say since I don't see it in my corner of the world, which means it can't exist.

I saw these same comments when the FF came out. I guess it just gets old.
