Simple, it is the antithesis to naturally aspirated engines. An electric motor, common to many household appliances, only larger, nothing special, just bland and common. There is no heritage in an electric motor. And, in certain applications beyond annoying in its sound, for instance:

And then there is the weight of the batteries, an anathema to sporty cars.

In this context we are talking about hybrid power plants not full electrification.
In this application electrification is complimentary to the ICE and as a package is a very good combination. I share some of your dislikes when it comes to full electric motors.

I sincerely believe that there is nothing more fun than a nice aspirated engine, maybe small, in a very light car. The sound drives you crazy and in terms of driving fun I think there are no equals. Unfortunately, this can no longer happen. We have had ample demonstration of how a car like the 296 GTB is fun and exciting even if it is a hybrid. Electric means immediate maximum torque but also means a bad noise and a significant weight gain. Two sworn enemies of Ferrari: weight and bad sound. But this is the present and the near future, hoping that something will change and that exciting solutions or new technologies will return.

You have to buy an STO.
The fairest and most homogeneous car I have driven in recent years...
A balance and an extraordinary front axle !
    Leave the 296 to consumers...
Drive it for a long time in the mountains like I did, pushing the car and you'll see how bland a 296 is.

Hybrid adds a great deal of complexity and ongoing maintenance costs, it is essentially two overlapping drivetrains that can only be unified by complex computer controls. I prefer the simplicity of a single power source.

Heard a lot of great things about the sto including the best lamborghini to date…although i wonder if the 296vs will be the more relevant car to compare with sto?

To me, the 296vs is a hybrid vehicle, no comparison to a non-hybrid vehicle, the differences are immense. The STO has a large NA V10 (dual injection to avoid GPF) that is loud and alive. The 296VS has a tiny V6 (GDI requiring GPF), suffocated by turbos and drive-by sound regulations and has a complex hybrid drivetrain (it does include a hot-tube to pipe engine sounds to the cabin but outside...). And, the 296VS does not yet exist, seems like it might, but might be years away, by then the Huracan successor will be out, hybrid, V8, turbo...so maybe that is the relevant comparison.

Fair enough if that is your choice but that doesn't make the hybrid system bad, I have all sorts of NA cars (Lamborghini V10/V12, Porsche GT etc) and the SF90 is my favorite street car at the moment, it is intoxicating to drive.

Variety is the spice of life there isn't one car which can meet every single desire. Hybrid has its place.

Curiously it seems, to me the SF90 is not well loved, in EU and USA, 25% of the cars delivered are currently being advertised for sale, I think that is a record high for any Ferrari model.

You can not be serious with your Tesla, all the kids on Youtube come up with the same argument, was your account hacked LOL

If Tesla will destroy the SF90 it will wipe the floor with all the cars you own so what's the difference?

IMO because the SF90 was sold to whomever wanted to buy one without Ferrari history, many were bought by speculators trying to cash in, combine that with the fact that some coupe customers upgraded to Spider you have a great number of them on the secondary market.

Irrespective, that doesn't change the fact that the car is phenomenal.

The STO is really an insider's car, because the car really comes into its own when you press it hard, even very hard !
you need a minimum of technical knowledge to appreciate the way in which its front axle is positioned, its perfect balance, its braking distribution, its lightness, its absence of inertia... and good piloting bases to request it.
It was a great discovery, I no longer wanted to change the steering wheel in the mountain hairpin bends!
Nothing to do with a 296 which next appears as a consumer car destined for the straight line... It is in these moments when you clearly realize that Ferrari has taken a wrong turn by betting exclusively on power, to the detriment of everything else.
Hybridization in TT is a disaster !!! and it would have been better to hybridize in NA with less hp !!!
I passed in the Pista on the way back, and I felt like I was driving in a GT...Impossible to follow the STO in the sequences of turns, I disappeared from its mirror !
The weight, the braking, the softness of the suspension and the inadequate power...all the faults of this overpowered compromise car that is the Pista appeared as obvious.
As for an SF 90...if it had wanted to follow us in the windings, it would have ended up at the top of a tree...
Ferrari is no longer a sports car manufacturer, but a noble and luxurious GT with a sporting vocation. That's a fact !

And...for the first time in Ferrari history, a number of those SF90 for sale include some repaired "buy back cars" and some buy back cars were returned to the factory and are no longer part of the pre-owned inventory...so that is new for Ferrari...unrepairable new cars

So what you are saying is that there are way more "unwanted" SF90's out there?

not 'way more' but notable number of SF90s develop critical failures that end up with Ferrari buying them back, and I believe that is a first for any Ferrari, that is, developing critical failures that are not resolvable to the customer's satisfaction so they are returned, some portion of those are eventually repaired and put for sale, others, disappear back to the factory or elsewhere...

so if they were returned and no longer available wouldn't that mean that there is less of them on the market?

What sources do you have to back this info?
