yep.. We're talking about relatively rare items here, and as long as there's enough bums to fill the seats they will always sell. Most of the collectibles market is similar. The really good stuff will always attract a buyer as there's just so few around. The less desired models, or those with chequered histories will likely get crushed as they aren't bought by people with deep pockets.
Right.. And most people who own these cars are actually pretty smart with their money - which is the very reason they could afford them in the first place. Not counting old money of course.
Well that counts me out. Which makes me wonder how I got one in the first place….[emoji43][emoji94] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am with u on this. Hence I am on boil rice ever since.. the difference between 1984, 2000 and now is the size of people's loan. small percentage equate to huge amount...
Yep, first house in 1991 was $126k, $70k loan at 18%... paid off in less than 5 years... Worst part is that at that time I was earning more (working in HK) than an architect working in Australia does today... wages have crashed in comparison to house prices.
Actually that was the house I sold in late 2001 to buy the 308! Sold the old house for $265k, bought a nice unit for $175k and spent the difference on the car! I always seem to sell just at the start of a boom - 6 months later I would easily have got $650k for it... now close to $2m land value. Still pretty much as I sold it. Ho hum. Had I put the time and effort into renovating /redeveloping I would have have done well, but I was distracted by another house I was building in Brisbane at the same time. No regrets as I’ve enjoyed 20 years with my 308! That first house set me up quite well as I’ve had no mortgage (on my residence) since 1995; used the old house as leverage to build the next house and so on.
Selling before the boom happens a lot lol. That’s why I never sell anything lol Life is good when you have 20 years of Ferrari ownership under your belt. Thanks for sharing.
The auction has kicked off! The market seems to agree with this forum's consensus: Image Unavailable, Please Login https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2004-ferrari-360-modena

Another rubbish advert by an out of touch/wanker vendor whom thinks he/she as something extra special
Sorry if this is a repost of this 'cough' well priced GTS: https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1980-ferrari-308-gts-manual/OAG-AD-21218229/?Cr=9 Geez knowing your market isn't THAT difficult: "The only carbureted 308 on the market. " There are several. Jeez the description is rubbish.
