F355 Market

Correct!

 

I'll give you full credit for one prediction. Yellow 355's don't seem to be fetching prices a red one would. I don't agree with it, but I'm not the market .

 

And the yellow GTS at Miller is still there too.

 

Which begs the question, how much is one willing to pay for a car in the color they love over a car in a color they are ok with? $20-30k more sounds like a reasonable number to me, but having "settled" for a black 355 for 10 years and still find myself yearning for a red one... it feels priceless to be able to have the car you love in a color you love. So if someone was willing to pay more than a $30k premium for color, I'd understand.

 

How long has it been there?

 

At least two months, to my knowledge.

 

Don't know. I became aware of it Oct 8th, so at least 3 weeks. probably longer.

 

I didn't want a red one. Just figured I would color change it one day but obviously I'm not a purist.

At the age of these cars, I figure they all need some paint work to bring them back to perfect anyway.

Edit - paint correction can be done in a way to preserve the car without color sanding. New techniques, tools and materials. But it does take a special person and experience to carefully dance around the a grievous error. In that regard, I prefer original, but all other items - yes.

^ RM seems to think so. At that range due to strong $US and only if LHD, I’d be tempted to store for 3 more months in UK then ship to US under 25 year rule (DOT/EPA exempt).

Johnk's got some competition. Only it's airbag doesn't look that great . As mentioned before, owners live with warped airbag issues more often than not. Did Ferrari forget how to make passenger airbags after 95?

 

Another interesting phenomenon. Are bodyshops en masse simply to lazy to paint black the lower rear bumper vents?

 

I think, not so much.

I don't by cars as monetary investments. They are investments in enjoying life.

 

In 1964 I bough a Model A Ford couple and built a hot out of it. In 1967 I chopped the top of it and made it a roadster. I guess I could do it again.
