I hate anything that tries to take control of the car, ABS, ASC, etc ..... never had the ABS on in the 355
Yeah I particularly hate lane assist and stop / start. I disable them every time I start a car. I actually changed the programming on my old Golf so that stop / start was always disabled. I’ll probably do the same thing in the BMW. One of the good things about the BMW is at least it remembers your preference when it comes to the lane assist etc. The worst offenders in this area are actually the cheap stuff that you tend to get given as hire cars (Hyundai, Toyota etc) The lane assist in those is absolutely horrible and good luck trying to work out how to turn it off.
I thoght my LA button on the Lexuzzzzzzzzzzz was the mobile phone button, took me a while to work out why the steering wheel fought me sometimes and not others
These Chinese s/boxes are no different "Posted by u/RGStewie 10 months ago "Is there anyway to fix the adaptive cruise control on a Haval Jolion? Question/Advice I recently bought a new Haval Jolion and don’t mind it so far. The only major issue I have with it is it’s cruise control. The slightest turn in the road and this thing chucks on its breaks from 100km/h down to 90km/h. I’m literally a hazard on the road with this. If there is any sort of setting I’m missing or any advice I would greatly appreciate it." ,neither is Vics Isuzu D Max with its lane cane crap:
A man was caught driving at more than 280km/h on the Hume Highway on Monday morning, police say. NSW police said officers from the Hume Traffic and Highway Patrol Command detected a blue Volkswagen Golf allegedly travelling 280km/h in a 110km/h area on the Hume Motorway, Mittagong, about 9.30am. "Officers directed the vehicle to pull over and spoke with the driver, a 22-year-old man," they said in a statement. The driver has been told to attend Moss Vale local court next month when he will face charges of driving at a dangerous speed. "His driving privileges have been withdrawn," police said. https://www.canberratimes.com.au/story/7972261/man-caught-driving-on-hume-at-more-than-280kmh/?cs=14329 Honestly didn't think any Golf could do 280kmh,
I hit 235 on those big sweepers north of Gundagai, but that was 30 years ago. Nowadays I get very nervous more than 10% over the limit* *Unless one of you guys is out in front
The big dipper near Mittagong could possibly increase that figure. With a nice hidey hole in the bush covered median strip facing south.
The idiot in the Hume was in a MK7 R. Still would have needed some programming and tuning to hit 280..
We had a case here a few years back where a fixed camera on one of our freeways was proven to be faulty. I remember the owner of a Datsun 120y made the news after they received a fine in the mail for going faster than its top speed. I’ll see if I can dig up the article…
