Anyone installed their headers in the last couple of years? I found some much older posts, but looking for more recent experience as retailers change suppliers every so often.

Yeah I just did a set on a 78. Fit and finish is great and the flow a bit better.

I installed a set on a QV last year. No issues whatsoever.

I installed their headers and exhaust on my 75 GT4. The left exhaust tip extended about an
1" further then the right side. Very frustrating. Took a long look at everything and it seemed like the front header was a bit short. So I made a stainless spacer, with the correct angles to meet up with the gaskets, 2 where used. That did the trick and the tips are almost perfect.

Never notified them, I figured it would be more of a PITA removing the header and shipping it back then solving it myself.

Although my headers are in good condition the beautifully welded heat shields have a tendency to rattle at times so I have been casually looking at aftermarket headers. The photos of headers on the Superformance web site are not encouraging. They appear to not made with mandrel bent tubing, rather cheaply bent curves reminiscent of something from a Midas muffler shop. The photos may be generic and not representative of the actual product but at least for me they have given pause to a purchase. Currently I am trending toward having to bit the bullet and go up market.

On a related note, I have seen results that a set of these, with an accompanying exhaust muffler from Nouvalari, on a carb car with the carb jetting set up on a dyno gained 8bhp from previous pulls. They flow a bit more.

As a follow up, I purchased those headers from Superformance, and was sorely disappointed, particularly with the termination of the pipes at the head flanges, and with the lack of 'flatness' of the flanges themselves. And the primary pipes had separate press bent sections welded together, not the one piece shown in the photo. I returned them and received a prompt refund, but I was out some $400 in shipping both ways. I'm still a big fan of SF overall, but would recommend you ask for photos of the actual headers they are going to ship before committing to purchase.

I then found a nice used pair of Euro style stainless headers from Exotic Auto Recycling which I sent off to have ceramic coated.

Were I do to it over, I would have re-used my alloy enshrouded US spec headers after removing the shrouding, cutting off the CO ports, welding up the holes, then having them coated. That option went out the window when the trash guy I use to haul away shop detritus took away my originals which I had set outside with other scrap metal when cleaning the shop, and I didn't notice for a couple of days until I went looking for them. Too late as they had already gone to the scrap yard. Totally my fault, and makes me wince every time I think about it. :(
