One must really stretch to find fault with this amazing machine that seems as though it's genes are from a completely different bloodline ..... but here goes (not in any particular order - some of these items will correspond to 458 and 488 models as well):

Navigation system - As Harry from Harry's Garage said, "just use your smart phone, it's a gazillion times bettter".
Exhaust - While I'm not even remotely close to being disappointed, admittedly it could be better.
Front End Lift Button - location is obscured by the steering wheel. A hunt and peck exercise to actuate the system.
Bonnet and Fuel Door Buttons on Door Panel - Should be reversed so that the front button unlatches the bonnet, and the rear button opens the fuel door.
Express Up/Down Windows - Drivers window express up and down; passenger door window express down only (makes no sense to me).
Rear Visibility - The middle louver in the Lexan is directly in the line of sight. About all you know for certain is whether or not there is a vehicle behind you.
Accelerator and Brake Pedals - Just too close together even for one with a narrow foot. Easy fix; simply unbolt the brake pedal and move it one hole to the left.
Driver's Dead Pedal - Replace the cheap looking rubber pedal with the Hill Engineering piece. Big improvement.
Passenger Foot Rest - There isn't one. I installed one from a Portofino; it looks great while protecting the carpet.
Black Intake Bellows - Boring. Swap them out with red silicone to match the engine covers. Dresses up the engine compartment nicely.
TFT Displays - They're OK, but hardly intuitive and effort intensive; definitely room for improvement.

Even with these very minor issues (some of which have been easily corrected), the F8 is amazing beyond my wildest expectations. Truly a super Supercar and the very last of its kind!

I use the buttons on the back of the steering wheel as much as possible, this greatly simplifies many functions…

F8 Spider - in no particular order
    • Could use slightly more cabin space either horizontally or vertically. I have to get the seat into just the right spot to have my legs not jammed into the under dash and my head not touching the ceiling (full electric, not race seats). Maybe race seats would have been better for my height, but it's my wife's car
    • Passenger window should have auto up and down, not just down
    • Exhaust is a let down, especially compared to my 812
    • Cup holders are in a joke of a spot, if you put anything with some height it hits the HVAC controls
    • Would have preferred a covered center console instead of the open storage bin where my phone will fly about when on backroads
From a driving perspective I haven't found anything to dislike, and that's what matters most to me. The car is an absolute thrill, and a great compliment to my 812.

Humm… It’s hard to come up with any niggles, but here goes:

The battery tender plug-in connection in the passenger footwell area…

I wish it were magnetic and located on the exterior of the body, like on the 488.

    Cheers!

I won't try to defend the infotainment system on the 458, but . . .

For those who didn't get the separate media manual (because Ferrari did not provide it), here it is. The two most important things to learn are the difference between "quick press" and "press and hold," and the buttons behind the steering wheel. The top word (main / menu / back) is a quick press, the bottom word is a press and hold (on / setup / menu). The buttons behind the steering wheel do volume/voice recognition (left), scan/select (right). VIEW (press and hold) toggles the right TFT screen between speedometer and radio/navigation/media/phone.

I do wish the system had a volume leveling option (I use the left steering wheel button to turn the music down/up constantly) and I wish there was a reliable bluetooth streaming option (Bovees work for some, Inverney seems to work for everyone but me).

    probably
Just bolt it to the battery flap in passenger floorboard. I'm thinking of this addition also.

Careful - do not use the two upper bolt holes to secure the passenger footrest as the bolt ends may come into contact with the battery. The two upper bolts are faux - cut off the heads and glue them in. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Just one gripe on the 488 and that is that the 4 “round” dash controls were each designed by 4 *different* people. Despite the fact that they are all round you operate each one differently.. one you actually twist, one you have to press a quadrant, one you press the middle .. its madness

Oh and yes the horn location, can never find it when you really need it. Particularly odd in an italian car.

Agreed. Not intuitive at all. Can you pry the trim off the side panel on the floor and re arrange the buttons or simply rotate 180 and reinstall it?

I think of "auto easy exit" as "valet mode." On the tiny chance someone else drives your car it's in automatic. When you drive it one pull of the paddle puts it back in manual.

Interesting. On my 488 (RHD) bonnet is first button fuel cap is second. Its how I remember which is which without having to even look.. did they really reverse that for the F8

I haven't tried, but they seem pretty flush without much of a gap where a pry tool might be inserted. I'll take another look but my senses tell me to avoid damage, leave well enough alone.

One more thing, what's the purpose of the sepatator in the glove box? It tends to make storage of many common items difficult. Good news - the partition on the right side of the compartment is easily removable; pull it straight out.

On the 458 the Separator in the glove box is the deeper part of the box. The left side has the disc changer and it is very shallow and you can barely put anything in the glove box on the left because the changer unit takes up al the room. They probably didnt change the box design between models.
