Yes, I am starting to think this will be the biggest fight in boxing for 2023! Not Fury VS Uysk or Spence Jr VS Crawford. Can’t wait to see what happens.
Ramos is tearing apart Spencer right now. Round 6. Spencer is out of his depth. Benevidez v Plant is next. I know Porter and some other pros are picking Plant, but I just can’t see it. On one hand, it’s easy to get carried away with David’s last win against a shell of what Lemieux once was, but I’m very high on Benevidez. We will find out shortly.
Too late to edit my post, but I love the corner stoppage from Spencer’s dad/trainer. Boxing has a terrible history with fathers as trainers and not wanting to stop the fight. Stark contrast to someone like Teo’s dad, who by the way, could also learn the meaning of sportsmanship from the Spencer family. Spencer is a young fighter, it’s his first loss and there was no need to let him take any more punishment. He couldn’t stop the pressure from Ramos and couldn’t get inside to fight like he wanted to either. Anyway, enough with the commentary from me.
Fury HAS to fight Usyk. Him walking away now he can no longer call himself ''the king'' as he keeps doing. He lowballed Usyk plenty, dared him for the fight and is now backing out of it. They already agreed on 70% to Fury, wtf? What more does he want? Usyk should come back and do it for 10%...and only if he wins does it go to 30%. Call him out publicly. If Fury walks from that, says it all.
I feel Fury is not afraid of Usyk AT ALL. I feel he has no motivation to fight him. Fury's biggest problem is himself. He concoured all that he needs to.
He shouldn't have hyped it up then... Fury definitely won't be knocked out but out boxed is a real threat to him. To beat Usyk IMO he needs to knock him out.
