Nothing, whoever comes now is going to race Binotto´s car. Changes could happen in trackside operations, strategy and so on but later in the season.

Binotto is the first step. Let’s see whom They bring in and what other changes are made. Ferrari started strong but the car went backwards in terms of development and the strategy has been horrible for years.

The binotto car isn't the big issue. Ferrari is starting with a good base car, at minimum 3rd fastest. It'll be trackside operations that'll be a struggle.

The new TP could well win the very first race. But over the season he'll figure out what the pitwall keeps doing wrong and how they're losing races. That likely won't be a quick and easy fix. The people within the team are used to a program they follow (although there is plenty of evidence Ferrari just seems to do things on the fly!) and that needs to be fixed. They can compete for wins, but it'll be extremely unlikely for Ferrari to be championship ready unless their car is half a second clear of the rest of the field so they can make up for strategic mistakes.

One positive thing is that the day Vasseur will be TP everything will be on Charles side.
At least we will avoid embarrassing episodes like Silverstone next year..

I hope he goes there and takes his strategy team with him, ha-ha.

But realistically, who’s going to hire him and why? Not for his technical know-how—he hasn’t been in charge of an engine since the 2019 fiasco—and definitely not for his team management skills.

    :p

I honestly don't know who would pick up Binotto as a TP. [shoulder shrug & hands up in the air]

My opinion says Binotto will demote to a technical role at Ferrari.

He can always return to his native Switzerland and run Sauber… into the ground before the Audi takeover.

Or maybe he’ll move a little to the east and go run Minardi… err, Alpha Tauri.

2nd place in 2022, Ferrari never happy outside of 1st place, but it's just been a revolving door.

I think it's more a 2nd place that could've been 1st place, at least a very well fought one instead of nearly losing P2 to Mercedes...

You think Toto walking into a team that already had Aldo Costa, Bob Bell, Andy Cowell, Paddy Lowe onboard, and Lewis Hamilton on the way wasn't picking up a winning lottery ticket? o_O

Toto's talent wasn't in recruiting the talent for the engineering side. His contribution was cleaning up Mercedes track operations and their pre-2013 cluster**** of a pit wall. I'd love to bring him to Ferrari to clean up their garage.

And as for Horner. Yes, he's a good team principle, but he also had Newey from the start. Even though they didn't find success early, Horner knew all they had to do was wait for the 09' rule changes for a shot to rise up the pecking order, and that's what happened.

Again, Vasseur will not have such luxuries. He is indeed walking into a Ferrari that can build fast cars, but Maranello don't have an ace designer on staff that has a long track record building winners. Simone Resta, David Sanchez, etc, are talented, but they've yet to hit the aero jackpot.

this. Development was stagnant and they are a running joke in terms of strategy. Like buying a good car from a shytty dealership….it all went sour.
