This really concerns me as they needed to improve two primary things. Race strategy and In Season Development. They could have targeted that. Unfortunately it seems his relationship with Elkann and LeClerc died so he was out...

That would be conjecture but Vasseur hasnt exactly been a shining beacon for Alfa (who supposedly have the same budget as everyone) and one of the best wind tunnels in F1. A small team they are not!

For me there isnt any TP that stands out except for Horner who is an old hand at running a successful team.

Far better to have stuck with Binotto and fixed the deficiencies rather than start back at the bottom of the hill........again. His biggest mistake was signing Sainz and giving both drivers No1 status.........dumb move.

The budget cap applies to everyone, but several team don't reach it. I guess Haas, Alpha Tauri at least, Sauber perhaps? .

Also, Sauber is , in my view, victim of its location. Switzerland is one of the most expensive country to operate a business.

Not at all. I am dead serious; German are very efficient organisers.

A German TP would soon kick Ferrari into shape, maybe bruising a few egos along the way ! :)

McLaren is let down by his technical team, IMO; the chassis isn't too good.

Ferrari gets it right once every 30 years or so. And for those new to this, the race division is completely separate from car production and sales. The CEO plays almost no part in the F1/racing side. The racing side keeps getting it wrong because they are Italian!!!!!! Teaming was lost at Ferrari shortly after their 50th anniversary in 1997 and has not returned.

IMO behind the scenes he must've said exactly the same what he said publicly...if he did actually change things he wouldn't have been fired.

Not making changing the disasterous tactical team in the 2 years when they had the chance, this doesn't even mean replacing the guys but implementing a structure where mistakes are minimized...everyone makes them, no issues with that, but the things Ferrari has done this season are inexcusable, total amateur hour that a Formula 4 team would be embarrassed making. 2 years of knowing they'd be lost years, ample time to fix it properly...

Ignoring TD39, had the disaster team been fixed, we'd have had a seriously close battle till the very end.

Not sure how that pertains to my post?
Anyway, the Italian football team has won World cups and European championships, Ducati bike championships, AF Corse numerous sports car championships and Lancia World rally championships.
Of course before that there was the Roman Empire, though of course, one does have to ask the question:
What have the Romans ever done for us ?

Nothing to do with Italians, it's a Ferrari "thing".

The Scuderia has been put on a pedestal, and cannot live to expectation. It's a giant with feet of clay.

Most of its results are quite acceptable in fact , but because they are Ferrari, they are judged catastrophic.

No other team is affected by such "self loathing".

Formula 1 has been a joke for a long time.
There are too many races, no free tests and we have 800kg cars.

We are talking about Ferrari meltdown here, not F1 as a whole.

    Welcome to FChat.

So Luca di Montezemolo didn't play a role in Ferrari F1?

How bout Sergio Marchionne? He didn't play a role in Ferrari F1?

I've seen Elkann and Pierro Ferrari at various grand prix's.

The Ferrari F1 team are NOT all Italian.

The problem with Ferrari F1 is Ferrari F1 have tried to hire top-notch people. Unfortunately, these people don't want to move to Italy or have moved to Italy only to work for Ferrari F1 for several years and then get picked up by another F1 team or FIA position or car manufacturer.

I'm not sure I share all that you say in your post. Teaming was lost in 1997 and has not returned?-->What happened when a certain Michael Schumacher, to include his team from Benetton, went to Ferrari and Ferrari started winning races to include WDC titles and WCC titles up to 2004?

Most of us here on FChat F1 already know that F1 and car sales are completely separate and car sales are not affected by a losing F1 season or seasons with regards to Ferrari and Ferrari F1.

Reports are he turned down Ferrari 2 weeks ago. Better to struggle at McLaren. Ferrari- “greatest team” and worst environment!

I don't think Jean Todt has the strength to do this at age 76? Ross Brawn turns 70 in 2024...he could, if interested, do the job. I'd look at Zak Brown is willing to kick butt and fire people...in his early fifties, he may be tired of trying to push McLaren forward, and willing to take the Ferrari challenge. Is it too late for Toto and Lewis to jump ship and come to Ferrari (sending Leclerc to Mercedes)? Who has gotten the most out of their car? Alpine? Alphatauri? Is Franz Tost stronger than Otmar Szafnauer? There is no reason to do this gently and waste another year. We should start the 2023 season right now, pushing harder than ever.

The intrigue of F1 lol! We will know after a few races the full effect of this change on Ferrari and how the grid is shaped in terms of performance.
Ferrari created as many problems with this management shift as they solved, if they solved any overall. As others posted they had no succession or back up lol. Amatuer hour at the 'best/largest/most historical' team ever. No............just poor management. Nothing else.
