Does anyone know where I can get a sideview endcap for my '85 308 mirror. Somebody stole mine while at dinner. I search the forum but could fine anything relevant to the rear end cap (only the front). Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I have the same year / model car... Sorry Travis for "hijacking" your picture... does anyone know if this black piece I circled in yellow is a extremely thin plastic covering or a tape/film to hide the polished section of the mirror? I have this on my driver's side mirror but the passenger one is missing it... Can anyone advise what it is or what they used to replace it with?

PS... Yep, I've seen this end cap on unobtainiumsupply.com website when I was buying some rubber molding parts...

Pretty sure that was originally a paint or powdercoat type of finish. When I was fixing the passenger mirror on my 328, that finish was very brittle and flaked off just like old paint. The metal underneath is plated/polished, so it will be tough to get paint to stick. A thin vinyl film might be a good solution. I just left mine alone.

I have both front and rear caps made out of 3D material. I have 2 85 GTS. I lock up the originals since they're easy to swap while you're not near your car. I sold a few. if interest please pm me.

My front caps look like the above but they have HELLA embossed on them. Are yours the same ones? I'm missing both a front and rear cap and would love to replace both.

Mine would simply fall out over time. I then decided to put a tiny drop of super glue on them, which kept them in place a lot longer...

IMHO black silicon is a better option then superglue as
a/ you can add a bit more of it then superglue to keep it in place and being black it's invisible
b/ doesn't effect the plastic and
c/ easier to remove the part should you ever need to tighten the arm or remove the mirror completely
