He talks about it a lot. Really hope he's using it as pressure on FIA to have no F1 during Le Mans races, so he (and others) can do both.
Not my comment, but it is actually true...... " Darryn Smith (@darryn) 12th December 2022, 7:36 This fundamentally changed F1 for me. This wasn’t Senna or Schumacher blatantly running someone off the road in the heat of battle, but the whole organization bending and changing rules to get the result they wanted. It became WWE that night. " Think that says it all.
I accepted the result, but the interference was obvious. The FIA credibility took a serious dent that day. Having said that, it's now water under the bridge, and Max was a worthy WDC, IMO.
I hope it does. Sportscars are my first love in motor racing. Maybe we will go back to what endurance was in its heydays, and we will see massive battles like in the 60s and 70s. It's pity that Daytona and Sebring (the 12 hours), are not in this WEC championship.
FIA credibility was already long gone after all the times they turned a blind eye to Mercedes illegalities
Let's be fair, NO organisation is perfect. There are also many faults with other sporting authorities. The FIA is under constant scrutiny and any mistake becomes very obvious. We are not living in an ideal world.
A mistake made once is a simply that: a mistake (having said that, I do not think that FIA made a mistake at the end of the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix!!!). But FIA acknowledging illegalities from Mercedes but not correcting them for a long time, is not a mistake but deliberate.
https://www.formulapassion.it/motorsport/formula-1/arnoux-su-verstappen-nel-2021-ha-rubato-ma-piu-forte-di-leclerc-ferrari-red-bull Rene Arnoux is getting older but I am not sure he’s improving with age..
I agree when the call was first made to not allow the lapped cars to unlap themselves during an excessively long SC period. That is the standard procedure afterall. Did someone behind the scenes have the intention to protect Hamilton's position? How embarrassing to think so highly of Hamilton, but have zero confidence in him while he is leading the race in the fastest car with the best engine only needing 1 lap to defend. I'll put the salt down now. I know those wounds will never heal up.
He also didn’t have much good to say about Binotto—“he should have been fired a long time ago!”: https://it.motorsport.com/f1/news/f1-arnoux-durissimo-binotto-doveva-essere-cacciato-prima/10415025/
You’re way off base here. And I say that as someone who deeply appreciates and respects your Post Race Analyses.
Prost/Arnoux Renault 1982. Nothing to add. And his misterious dismissal by Enzo at the beginning of 1985..
+1 - needless trolling type post lol. In another troll universe it might be valid. Pathetic to say the least. Hilarious as it’s a LH post lol. Ever popular!!
As you have been showed before ( I know, biased people always see what they want ) Neway dissagrees with you. seeing as he is f1s best chief designer, i am going to stick to what he says, after all, his opinion is worth a trillion of your biased max loving Lewis hating ramblings. "“I think on balance we’ve probably had the quicker car and that’s a tribute to everybody back in the factory really. I think obviously everybody’s. We’re all in the limelight here but what the guys have done back in the factory my colleague engineers the everybody everybody in the whole place the support we feel when we’re out here that they give us is amazing,” summed up Newey." who to believe 1/ SS454 2/ Adrian Neway Hmm tough one LOL. That moment when you realise Max won with the best car, that was over spent on, used an illigal wing for 6 races, got a victory for qualy at spa, got away with brake checking, and needed the rules removed and replaced with unofficial rules to beat Lewis who Adrian claims had a worse car than Max LOL LOL LOL.
Forgive me, I was just trying to make a point. The topic has been beaten to death and yet the same Max bash comments and ignorance of facts that hurt the Lewis narrative continue to be waved on a flag at every opportunity by the same people.
Don't believe me at all. Do the research yourself, its available to anyone and everyone. I very clearly was specifically talking about Abu Dhabi where the Mercedes was 100% unquestionably the faster car. The RBR was not illegal, it passed all the FIA's test. Mercedes however complained and the FIA changed the rules and testing to suit Mercedes. Mercedes ended up designing their own flexy wing despite their protests. However when Mercedes super flexy front wings came into question, the FIA looked the other way. Convenient for them hey? Can't argue about the Spa debacle. However, there wasn't anything in the rules that said a race started didn't qualify for official results and some points. Hell, the FIA even changed the rules based on that race, and they still screwed it up in Japan this year. Max got penalized for "brake checking" so he didn't get away with it. However Lewis did get away with being at fault for driving up the ass end of Max's car. You can LOL to your own dilutions all you want. I have no need to list all of Lewis' mistakes and the times the FIA made decisions to favor Lewis, or at least hurt Max. It's been mentioned many times, and you will forever continue to ignore those facts. There are plenty of instances where I think Max was in the wrong and where I think Lewis was in the right. I am pretty confident that I am unbiased for the most part. I am certainly always open to facts that can change my mind either way.
That's a gross over-simplification of the facts ! Negating all the advantage the leader had built, rushing the restart procedure to turn a GP into a one-lap drag race with one car on worn tyres against one on fresh tyres isn't, my idea of fair competition. Masi wasn't sacked for no reason !
Don’t understand why we are again talking about this episode. Absolutely no one prevent Mercedes to pit. End of story.
