Not too crazy about this, neither about the choice nor the timing. But what is done is done and probably he was the best available option. And hey, at least they didn't hire Briatore.

    Fred need to :
1-put the pit crew working 24/7 untill they manage to do decent pit stops, in the 80s and 90s Ferrari where the best, againd during Michael years, we need to to get back at this, it's one area where REd Bull excells.
2-Sort the ****ing strategy out, if he can't find anything, give me a call, or 90% of the guys here on the f.1 section, we'll sure do a lot better than Rueda.....but maybe not as good Hanna...so go and get us a Hanna!
3-Build a good car, and learn how to improve it, all year long, milk the ****ing cow t'ill she becomes parmalat!
4-Next time the FIA want's to try and change things to please TOTO, tell them to stuff it....

Why Vasseur is the right man to lead Ferrari's F1 revival - until he is not and does not show results in 24 months or less. Every previous holder of the seat "was the right man" LOL.

I don't get all this negativity about Vasseur.
He knows how to deal with a racing team.
His reputation in France is a positive one.
    Tough but fair.

I'll wait and pass judgment on Vasseur at Ferrari for about 2 years since the 2023 car was still under Binotto(positive or negative).

He's got alot of food on his plate....ALOT.

    I'm not holding my breath.

Seems his reputation at Sauber was very good too—just look at how much they praise he received in the Sauber press release announcing his departure… and compare that to McLaren’s about Seidl.

You are right. The shelf life of a Ferrari team principal is very short these days.

Will he see 2026? I wonder.

One could almost believe Leclerc got his way: Binotto is sacked and Papy Vasseur is hired.

Leclerc can be confident he will be the Anointed One at the Scuderia from now on.

The rational view. No one has any idea what to expect and what will change. We will know over time as results are apparent. You have a good view!

It's like any other big operation or sports team. It takes awhile for things to gel when the top management is changed..

But good luck to all at the Scuderia.

    Entirely my opinion too.

The Scuderia isn't the best team to work or drive for, as history has shown.

Only a few have succeeded there, for the rest it has been sheer aggravation. .

What is so "positive" about Vasseur ? Apart from a brief spell at Renault (very unconvincing), he has never led a big team to success.

He will be an outsider at Maranello, and become a convenient scapegoat if results don't follow.

Nothing to compare him with Todt who was massivelly successful in rally and endurance at Peugeot before joiningh the Scuderia.

Everything is positive about Vasseur. First changes:
Enrico Cardile is now tecnical director of chassis
Enrico Gualtieri tecnical director of engines
    Ravin Jain new strategist leader

Don't think so mate, LEC makes too many mistakes and looks like bit of a sook

SAI didn't impress me at first but I think he has a better chance than Chuck baby

Maybe we should go after Alonso again :p

Came here just to say this.

I wish Vasseur the very best, like all Ferrari personnel.

Time will tell if lightning is caught in a bottle, or not. If Vasseur is willing to make the necessary changes on the pit wall and have the right people calling the races, that alone will be a massive improvement and morale boost. Imagine how the engineers and mechanics felt every time victories and points were thrown away. I don't see any reason to believe his leadership will make or break the car that is designed unless he starts fiddling with that dynamic. Based on what he has said, I like his "fix what's broken approach" compared to Binotto's "everything is fine" approach, while things burn down around him.

I read that the Audi management wanted Vasseur out of Sauber, judging him "unsuitable" to become CEO and reorganise the team before the complete take-over in 2026, under their banner. They convinced Seidl to leave McLaren which may have Audi engines in future in exchange.

Vasseur knew that his position was in jeopardy since June and was on the look-out for another job since. Well, Ferrari got him now ...
