How about sound? How does it compare to flammenghi?

I really love my 550 barchetta, it is a truly amazing car but I find the sound pretty disappointing.

I guess it can be fixed easily, any advice will be most welcome!

Thank you, the video speaks for itself!
I guess this is the full race system.

For those who know both systems, does the supersprint sound more or less like this or is there a significant different?

I think both are great systems with their own quirks.
I love my Fabio setup but that 25% supersprint sale is a crazy good deal.

well, I closed out the year with over 65k on the Beast now.
I bought the car with a little over 26 K on it, so I have driven close to 40K with the car.
Have a safe and wonderful holiday season.

just take off the mufflers and it will sound great. My 456M sounded by far best with standard catalyzers, Stebro 1 foot long "X-pipe" and one "Y" (1-2) rear exit pipes. It was perfect sounding with no drone. Can be had for less than 1000 dollars.

That video was with Fabio's X-pipe. Sounded much better than the double H-pipe in my opinion. I was in Fabio's own 575 first with X and HGTC mufflers and then with the double H and his own mufflers.

I didn’t know Fabio made an X. Why move to the double H?

Thank you for your message. I am very interested in your first hand experience, however I don’t think I really understood what you suggest. Could you elaborate a little bit ?

The sound becomes more like the older Ferraris. An X (normally) goves a higher pitched tone. The 6-1 gives a higher aswell. How high you want it is subject to personal taste.

After having had a 456m and a 550 and spent 10-15 thousands on trial and error combinding different components exhaus wise, I feel the easiest way to make a 550 sound good is to just put a X and no mufflers. It will run smooth and sound great. Not terribly loud either. Very inexpencive. Sure some high grade exhausts are more like piece of art when looking under the car. But that does absolutely not mean it will give a good sound experience. I have tried so many things. Some I thought wpuld be great and were not. Others were just for curiosity, and the result were good. And nobody can give you a real answer when asking for advice. Exhaust shops just install the parts. They have no knowledge about each specific car and does not run them in different everyday situations. You need to aske ownere here and ask for advice. But again, sound is very much subject to personal taste. Resonance/droning is often a problem. It is terrible.

That is very interesting. I understand for the x pipe, but how do you go without mufflers? Do you mean just pipes from the x pipe to the end tips outside the car ?
Do you have examples from aftermarket exhaust brands?

I was recently stuck in traffic with my 575, the outside temps on the interstate were north of 100
    see the pictures.
I had my A/C on all the time, my car is black/black
    the A/C kept me cool
what surprised me was how the temp were on the water and oil
I was literarily stopped on the interstate with the temp gauge reading 105 and everything stayed around 170 both water and oil
which amazed me to say the least
I owned a 512 TR for over 24 years and in a similar situation I would have seen temperatures around 220
the 575 can really take the heat
Ferrari did an incredible job with the cooling system on this vehicle Image Unavailable, Please Login

No better feeling than when you REALLY do not have to stress cooling issues. It was a long costly road (for myself) but worth it, especially today in LA.

I agree...never had an over heating issue, stuck in summer traffic or Utah, AZ, NV deserts during Summer road trips, etc.

fall is upon us and the V-12's love the cool weather !
    get out and drive
that's what you bought the car for isnt't it?
Stop washing and waxing it to death.
you get the most enjoyment out of driving a Ferrari not looking at it!

    Hello Clyde
I'm about to do this myself with a Motive power bleeder.

Can you explain how you cleared the blockage and what tool you used in case I come up with the same problem? I'm assuming any Dot 4 brake fluid is sufficient. Do you remember what brand you used? Thanks in advance...

If you run into the problem you will need a suction bleeder on the side that has the blockage or have someone in the car apply brake pressure

    Hope this helps

Good job!!! I'm driving a lot less (mostly house husband projects and old age) so you should pass me in a few years.
