I need to clarify the level of upgrades to a 2000 360F1 TCU. Early 360: F1 data can only be accessed by a Ferrari SDx computer or equally expensive Leonardo. PIS can be read but cannot be changed. Mid 360: F1 data can be accessed by a Ferrari SDx computer or a more capable OBD2 scanner like Launch Pro Mini X431 series. PIS can be read and changed. CS 360: F1 data can be accessed via after market OBD2 scanner, a host of parameters can be read and modified by such scanner. First, is the above assumption correct? Second, can a 2000 360F1 be updated to either a mid-360 update or a CS update? The most relevant thing to me is "can a 2000 360F1 gearbox be accessed by a Launch x431 Pro Mini scanner and relevant F1 parameters be changed, edited, programmed by that scanner? If not, what update needs to be done to the TCU?"
Do your self a favor and get a 2002 tcu and get it flashed with cs software that's what I did in my 2000 big difference Sent from my SM-G996U1 using Tapatalk
The 2000 TCU cannot be reflashed. There is an article by aldous voicey on which ones can. A couple of the later base model TCUs are able to be accessed with cheaper diagnostic tools, not just the CS.
i have a launch x431 and a 360 tcu from 1999 17xxx... with the lauch you can do a ****. i was lucky and by select marelli tcu i was able to read the PIS and clutch wear. nothing else.but technical i am looking for the issue why its impossible have access to my tcu. when i have a look at the wiring of the can buss: nothing is drilled... the single ECUs are so bad connected. in the next days i will connect the tcu by the can bus to the left engine ecu side. with the launch i dont have access to the ABS and the engine ecu on the right side (only the recovery of the right sided ecu give me access). maybe the wiring is so bad on the early 360s that with the launch i dont have access to the tcu. in the internet i found out that a ground pin is missing on the OBD Port on this modell (PIN 4 ?) i did not solved it allready.. i can not imagine that ONLY this tcu of a ferrari can only be accessed by a sd2. they all all boil only with water....
Odd. I didn't think any of the cheaper scan tools would go in an older TCU. Are you sure it is the factory one? Also, try disengaging the immobilizer and see if that allows you to read the other engine bank.
left engine bank ecu OBD works - no problem. all values i can read out, also learning values deleting works. about the immobilizer - i allready deactivated. nothing changed. i am sure Ferrari did a bad job in the early 360s and because of this the tcu OBD works so badly. Somebody tryed to read an old tcu with 17xxxx in an later 2004 or cs to read it out ? nobody would try this... but it would give an 100% answere. Its impossible that the tcu can only ready out by an sd2 or leonardo. also old Audi 100 or A6 from 1997 i can read out - slowly, but it works.
The difference in terms of diagnostic access is in the TCU. I misunderstood your post and thought you were talking about the mileage of your car, not the software generation. I honestly have no idea why you can only read one bank or how you can access the early tcu. Both of those things contradict everything I've heard and experienced firsthand.
All tcu life values i can read. But adaption what need the write process dont work. Pic... Self learn. The f1 actuator switch something in the back (i think its the clutch magentic valve line, then the Instrument cluster gives a gear box issue.
I'm a professional car mechanic myself, I renewed the seals on the F1 actuator (copper sealing rings) and renewed the entire liquid. now i have to bleed the system. I built cables with which I can hit the valves directly with 12 volts and switch on the pump manually. My problem is that the car immediately shifts into second gear and I can't find the first gear anymore, I think it's because of the adaptation process that can't be done
I also renewed the phase shifters last year and adjusted the toothed belt with a laser and dial gauges. The motor sounds incredibly great. the throttle response from the car is instantaneous. I also installed other headers from capristo.
If someone has to replace the master brake cylinder because they tore off the bleeder nipples, I can tell you where they can get a new master brake cylinder for €70.... It's exactly the same h Piston in the master cylinder with a diameter of 30 mm
With these connections, I controlled the solenoid valves with a voltage converter that was set to 3.6 volts so that they opened.Everything I say I can prove with photos. i am authentic Image Unavailable, Please Login
I replaced the heat protection hoses from the oil lines and the hydraulic lines of the f1 actuator with new fiberglass heat protection hoses made of titanium. I can take photos later if you like
Somebody can send me a paper copy from the allignment tool maybe that i can print it out and a DIY solution i will do for me... ?
This sounds like the way to go. Would you mind tell me how you went about refreshing it and what the cost was thanks in advance.
