Not sure if anyone here knew that Carolyn Grace - current female pilot on Spitfire was killed in a car crash, Sydney 2/12/22.
Carolyn was Australian who had returned to live here not so long ago.
She had over 900 hours up on her two seater, So Sad

Given I'm going home tomorrow, despite conditions being far from ideal with some wind and chop on the water I decided to have a crack at flying the Albatross.

Turns out it is very tail heavy, and therefore super unstable in pitch (hence the wild oscillations after take-off).
It wasn't pretty, but at least I got it back in one piece! :p

Apart from the imbalance it flew well, so I'll add some nose weight and try again later when hopefully the wind settles down a bit. :)

I'm glad I wasn't in the bloody thing!

The ride would have been worthy of the "Vomit Comet"....

Great flying! I've wiped out a few (cheaper!) RC planes by getting 180 degrees out of kilter :(

Up in the Riverland again today. Took some footage this time.

Again, you can see where the normal river banks are, and compare it to the amount of water there now.
The peak is supposed to go through Renmark just after Christmas so it’s still rising.
