It features an unusual replacement center console.

The centre console appear identical to the one in my LP400S (except I have no stereo).

    How is it unusual?

Just wow!! Love this ultra low taken photo of this Countach Anniversary KLA12504. Here is your chance to buy one of the lowest mileage Countachs in existence! Just 164 kilometers (102 miles)! Incredible…Going to be auctioned by Mecum, january 4-15 in Kissimmee. Delivered on December 29, 1988 to dealer Eugine Carrie in Canada. Pearl white with a white piped blue interior. A perfect combination!

Very nice japanese video of a Quattrovalvole driven by Masanori Sekiya, 24h of Le Mans 1995 winner.

He compares the driving with the Testarossa (easier to drive) and the Pantera (doesn't rev as much). The smile on his face says it all!

Good result, regarding the livery, the interior is currently grey, the original color was Senape (mustard).

I snagged it! Also have 1121446 for putting lots of miles on. Headed off to Iain to get back to drivable then out to California.

Not sure about that center console - seems like the only significant deviation from stock to me, an odd change but I kinda like it.

It's minor, and besides you are a driver so don't worry about it, just enjoy it the way you enjoy 1121446!

He has enjoyed himself no doubt. Not particularly smooth driving but to be fair he has only driven one for less than a hour. Seeing this a lot of late, people never driven a Countach before and boom! They love it. Truly a great driving experience as we lucky owners know.

I know this has been discussed and corroborated multiple times before. A few of us have had the same conversation with Valentino before. For anyone who still isn’t clear about Countach wings this is nice to have on video from a man that would know.

  19. His own words, officially no, however it was an option, customer's choice, the wing was not homologated for the Italian market.

At any rate this guy preferred the wing.

The wing was nowhere homologated, thats why it was always a special ordered addon. When checking the cars through the authorities the wing had to be removed or some owners simply had two luggage compartment lids.

    Good info Raymond.

It was a special order option(whatever the rules) and many went with it. The wing is part of the Countach history, love or hate it. If you own one, set it up how you like, Ferruchio did.

For a man who has never driven a Countach before, he looks at home in the cockpit and he drives it just the way a Countach (carbureted or injected) likes to be driven, which is with plenty of revs and lots of open throttle, which not coincidentally is the purpose of the car. If he was to own a Countach, within a few drives he'd be really good driver for the car. The Countach does not want to be idled around town or the neighborhood using low revs, driving it hard even in metropolitan areas is possible, you want to give it a chance to clear it's throat often, then they tend to run really well.

You don't have to justify use of the wing, it is a striking application we can all agree, everybody who is familiar with the Countach story knows the deal, there are threads where the wing or wingless has been voted on and it wingless seems to be highly desired again, amongst Countach owners I can tell you that it's popularity is waning because many people are taking them off, however, if you like it use it, all good.

It was unofficial because it was not homologated, it's aerodynamic efficiency was never tested, anyone who has driven the same Countach at near terminal velocity with both the wing and wingless (I have) knows the wing has the aerodynamic efficiency of a barn door, it simply slows the car (this was demonstrated back in the day by a UK magazine using Barry Robinson's Downdraft), plus it restricts rear visibility. On the plus side the wing is unrivaled for 'pretty girl lying on wing' photos.

On balance even through it's true that many came with a wing, the vast majority of cars left Sant Agata and were delivered without a wing, that much has been well-established.

Was Ferruccio still driving this Countach in his later years?

Sure, when he drove 1121164 for CBS 60 Minutes TV show with gusto he was @ 70 years old and I'm sure that wasn't the last time, during his retirement he liked to play with the cars on his winery, and as he said in an interview with a French magazine, nothing gave him more pleasure than going into the garage to "twist the key" of one of his V12 bulls.
