nope, the CS lives in CT, and is someone i have known since he was a kid (and so was i). CaptainSix is from Texas, and i have never met him.
I think you misunderstood. I was saying I would be interested in converting a challenge stradale, not referencing anybody named CS. I just saw u posted that u were converting a CS, what an awesome car! Def post pics please
Thank You for acknowledging this. I appreciate that. What ticked me off from the beginning is art claiming to be the first ever to convert a F430 on his website so he lied rite from the start. I don't know if he ever changed it after I confronted him. But that's water over the dam....As to your question, both of my F430’s had notchyness in second gear when cold. After it warmed up all was perfect. My 355 did that to
Not a mystery. It's obvious that you favor them with good reasons with many cars converted. I don't have an issue with that or you TT Its when people come here under false pretenses. Opening new accounts and trolling long reputable members here. cap6 is from Texas...wow what a coincidence. NGS has also played this game. I knew I smelled a rat.
Serious question- did that upset you because you spent a lot of money on R&D? Didnt you say years ago you went to Art and cple others for help?
Again TT...I have nothing against you. You've been a great contributing member here that has helped a lot of people...me included. I won't even take offense of you calling me an assh**e once.
...but he has some connection with EAG. He had 2 post before Friday and responded when it's product wasn't favored or was criticized. NGS has done similar deceiving tactics before trying to sell a friends product.
@Flea7 @LorenzoR @ttforcefed By mentioning your names I know that there will be a natural response of you thinking that you are innocent and "they" are the problem. And that may be the case. However, the three of you are tussling a bit and there's some trolling / borderline trolling going on. I'm asking that you self-moderate a bit and reel it in. Some need it more than others. If you think there is an inappropriate relationship between a company and a member promoting that company, report it and we will handle it. Thank you for your understanding.
I am amazed as to how many people have the comprehension level of a second grade student. Not a single response of mine is singled toward any person or business in this thread (attached responses in the PDF). I joined this forum months back as this is my first Ferrari purchase (F430 Coupe) [I am local to Austin]. I am a long time Porsche customer and have had hesitations on a Ferrari purchase as Ferrari themselves lack in the client support department. My taste was sour many years ago with the mileage rollbacks by authorized franchise dealers, not to mention the overall build quality is questionable. My interest is to convert my F1 system and this is the only reason I am here to shop for my options. Presumably, anyone that "Joins" is affiliated with AEG. Very mature.
Yea rite. Let me put it this way. Go back and look at my conversion thread in may of 2017. Art contacted me after i posted that thread. So Please stop trolling me..
I'm happy to repost https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148697861/ And the May 2017 post (the first F430 conversion) http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/f430-conversion-f1-to-manual-successful.552566/ Just for the record
Assuming you aren't affiliated with EAG (which I still highly doubt), You aren't shopping for options when you have obviously made up your mind before you came here.
You may have missed my post above but we don't need constant bickering on this subject. If you think a user is breaking ToS, report it and we'll handle it.
Whoa, there doesn't seem like there is much Holiday cheer on this thread! I wasn't going to post on this topic as its already got ugly but here goes. Firstly point is why not just contribute positively? share ideas, knowledge, experiences and enjoyable posts about Ferrari's, not all this insulting and community damaging vitriol. Nobody is interested in all this childish point scoring, moaning, complaining. I'll just share my experience here.. I have helped pretty much every single Ferrari gated conversion producer (*) out there in either a small or big way. Others still are waiting to come onboard and others still have at the least been at the minimum heavily inspired by my open sourced (on github) free technical contributions to this area. Using it as a basis for their further work but I would say the majority eventually end up coming back to me when they dig further and understand how deep the rabbit hole goes. This isn't as easy as people think. I wrote specialist tooling to help me with it... I therefore support directly or indirectly this entire niche cottage industry. People have no idea of the huge amount of technical support required to help them achieve these conversions in a 'reliable' way that doesn't compromise the integrity of our beloved Ferrari's. It may look easy from the outset but believe me its not. There are so many configurations and differences across the same model over different years (sometimes WEEKS of production) that you'd be foolhardy to allow someone who doesn't take this into consideration to slap on some unknown original firmware because it worked on their pals 360 of the same Model year. So many people are just happy to slap just any old firmware on their car and call it done and then they get a 'fruit cake' of car that never works properly ever again and cannot pass smog or achieve readiness. Whatever you do, DON'T be tempted to do this. It can lead to an enormous amount of pain for either yourself or the next owner (as you give up exasperated why your mechanic cannot fix your car!). The vast majority of the 'NEED HELP' cars I ended up having to help with when I get the time. They typically have been 'fixed' in this way and don't work as intended. Or their entire fault code system is broken (try diagnosing those cars!!) or their shifting isn't properly calibrated (even the factory made mistakes on occasion!) or they have fault codes that cannot be cured (no matter how many parts are replaced) - I've seen some owners spend $40k and still get a non working car. Then there is software recalls for passing of smog, re-flashes in field for critical issues (so your ecu label may not even match your cars actual firmware). These where often sent back to FNA and happened a lot more commonly than you'd imagine for some models. The bigger established players with vast and considerable experience (having done 100+ conversions) like EAG understand this minefield now and simply let me deal with it for them. Others such as Exoticar also use my technology and Dr.S recently came into the foray with a cost reduced kit and is learning the hard way about all of this. Thankfully George has reached out to me too and I'm sure we can get some of this mess rectified eventually. Growing pains and all so don't expect things to run as smooth when new entrance to the market. Some come in and ask their local "friendly tuner" to slap on any old gated rom. Sadly this just more often makes things worse.. Then they ask for support and those guys run a mile... PM LorenzoR about this if you must...
Well said Trev, And no need to close the thread, but time to get back to helping and learning here. Thats what i prefer. I apologize to everyone in this thread for letting my Italian cool manored self get away. Godfather Don Corleone would not be proud. And besides, I screwed up my Sunday batch of sauce because of this. That wont happen next sunday
I do infrequent reading on all these threads as I might have a conversion on a distant horizon so keeping this one open just for the sake of questions from others would be helpful. That said, having to pass California smog, etc along with other concerns, have all the issues with smog tests been resolved for the most part and are all/some of these kits able to maintain control of the manettino with E-diff or is that still off the table?
