Every time I come to a stop, the front bumper radar sensors are triggered. They trigger especially when pedestrians begin to cross perpendicular.

Besides pushing the sensor button on the dash each time you come to a stop, is there any way to turn it off or reduce its sensitivity? I read through the manual but found nothing.

    Grazie mille.

I don't have an F8 or an F8 manual, but that sounds like the "Stop and Go" function in my 458 and Portofino M:

"The “Stop & Go” function automatically activates the front sensors at vehicle speeds of 10 km/h and below. This system has been designed to assist the driver in certain traffic conditions (e.g. tailbacks) and signals when the minimum distance is reached between the vehicle and the vehicle in front. To activate or deactivate the system, access the SETTINGS screen on the left hand TFT display, select the items “Car settings” and “Parking sensor”, and enable the function “Auto Under 10 km/h”"

Got it … many thanks. Was successful deactivating it.

I've always wondered how the front sensors worked. I have rear sensors and of course they activate when the car is in reverse gear. But for the forward sensors I guess they just activate at low speeds? That does sound annoying.

The front sensors are incredibly annoying. Mine got turned on in my 458 by mistake one time and any traffic in front of me or driving at slow speeds in a parking lot and they would start alarming. It took me forever to find the poorly named "Stop and Go" feature in the manual. First thing I did with my wife's Portofino M was to make sure it was disabled.

There's a button on the dash next to the front lifter button that can turn them on or off.

Again, I don't have an F8 or an F8 manual, but the button in the 458 and Portofino M is not persistent, just per drive session. I think the original poster was experiencing that issue in his F8 and needed to disable it every time. Disabling it in the settings is persistent. If your experience is different that would be interesting.

Correct, I was responding to the guy asking how to turn them back on when needed while driving.

But aren’t the front sensors an optional extra? Why even option them if you’re just going to turn them off? Or do you use them when needed?

I bought my 2014 458 Spider pre-owned, so it had the front sensors. We ordered my wife's PFM with the full surround view cameras and adaptive cruise control, which also has the front sensors. The surround view camera is great, the adaptive cruise control works really well. The front sensors are just stupid unless turned off.
